It definitely makes me wish we didn't have Bruce so they'd just sign an excellent SP - Nola/Snell/Eduardo/Montgomery, not trade any SP at all, and roll out this next year:

Sandy, Luzardo, Nola/Snell/Eduardo/Montgomery, Eury+Rogers, Garrett+Cabrera
Scott, Meyer, Puk, Nardi, Chargois, Okert
AAA - Weathers, Hoeing, Brazoban, Soriano, Maldonado, Bender, Nance (Monteverde and Fulton off 40 man, maybe Sixto gets healthy)

That would be so great to shoot for Eury, Rogers, Garrett, and Cabrera to average 130 IP between them which I think is very reasonable. The bullpen would be perpetually rested with real inventory arms.

No idea how to fix the bats, but that's the best P staff in baseball IMO and they have 22 of those 23 pitchers within the organization today. We can dream they do something fun in free agency.

I think you should go look what they did with Garrett last year. It is grievance worthy IMO.

i know what they did. They did have a full rotation as all 5 guys ahead of him were healthy at that point but its just such a minor league way to run a franchise. Good teams pay their players before the arbitration stuff becomes a huge issue. For a supposed billionaire to do that to a guy just trying to get to his free agency while pitching really well is just such a bullshit move, and it is a big part of the reason why we are never in the conversation for any good free agents for the most part even if we are trying to spend money. If you remember, kyle schwarber didnt even want to take a meeting with the marlins. Turner actively turned down more money plus lower income taxes rather than coming here. There are a lot more guys like that. If you as a franchise want to save money, pay your players and give them extensions early, it will help you build an affordable great team long term and you avoid the bad will bullshit from players. we are a minor league bush league organization. It's not awesome, it's not gangster, it's just such a loser way to run your franchise. same bullshit with eury under the guise of limiting his innings.

Bruce Sherman’s net worth is not even close to a billion. That’s the biggest obstacle in the Marlins way in my opinion: an owner who’s not nearly wealthy enough to own a major pro sports franchise.

Why is Bryan hoeing warming up at all? Why does skip love avoiding our best pitchers unless it is the perfect situation with a lead? Why is Soriano eating two innings and hoeing potentially pitching in a tie game in the 9th? Why the fuck is there no urgency with this guy as if we have a 340 game season here? He’s been fucking awful for months now. There’s 30 fucking games left and were 3 games out? What in gods name is this guy doing? I don’t care if Soriano worked out, what is this guy doing?
