What does Avisail Garcia bring to this team right now? He's not going to get playing time. Call up Xavier Edwards for him, have him get 5 starts a week, I understand you don't want to play him at SS, whatever, he can bounce between, 2B, 3B, and all 3 OF positions, even DH, get 5 starts a week, let's get creative here FO.

If it were up to me Hampson would be up here over him, but I do think you need 2 guys who play SS, yeah you could play Jazz or Edwards there in a pinch, but do we want Berti starting every single day for the rest of the season? Not sure if that's a good idea. Garcia plays Corner OF, we have about 15 guys between the majors and AAA that play corner OF.

I think it's Wendle and Yuli for Edwards and Amaya, and then in September they can add two more bats to the active roster and that is Hampson and who knows. Maybe Burdick as solely a LHP pinch hitter and let Dane get everyday AB as he needs them. I did this yesterday. Reshuffle the batting order as you like, but the starting rotation works IMO.
vs RHP
1B/2B Arraez
2B/3B Edwards
CF Jazz
DH/1B/LF Bell/Soler
RF Sanchez
LF/3B Soler/Burger
3B/LF Burger/DLC
SS Berti
C Catcher
B - Catcher, Amaya, Garcia, Floating maintenance days for Bell/Soler/Burger/DLC, one is on the bench. Positional alignment easily shifts with Arraez/Edwards moving to whoever is benched to cover 1B or 3B.
vs LHP
CF/2B Edwards/Berti
2B/1B Arraez/Berti
DH/LF Soler
1B/DH Bell
LF/CF DLC
3B Burger
RF Garcia
SS Amaya
C Fortes
B - Stallings, Jazz, Sanchez, Floating maintenance days for Edwards/Arraez/Berti, one is on the bench and this is mostly Edwards/Berti as Arraez just has to play consistently.
And if one wants to DFA Garcia and keep Yuli, sure. Who cares. That's an easy swap to just the left handed lineup. Easy to move around Edwards, Arraez, Soler, Bell, and DLC to make that work. Hell DFA both of them for Hampson for all I care and team speed has just radically improved.

Sanchez, DLC, Soler, Myers, Hampson, Burdick have all graded out negatively defensively this year and Garcia has been a positive defender in his limited time according to fangraphs. He still needs to go though. Wendle has also not graded out crazy well defensively either. Positive according to fangraphs, but nothing special. And obviously not enough to make up for the bat. There comes a time every few years when it's time to cycle out some of the old guys who have been here for several years or who have gotten stale and get some fresh blood in there to just mix things up a little. I'm at that point with obviously Stallings, Wendle, Garcia, Gurriel can go next year though i think he has been a solid vet for a year for the minimum. Felt the exact same way about Cooper and Floro. Guys who made contributions but after a while it just gets stale and mediocre. Replace those guys with some sort of new C, a new SS, Edwards, and Johnston. Get some young blood in this lineup. IF we're going to have a bad lineup, at least do it with some young talent.

Even rotoworld is confused - https://www.nbcsports.com/mlb/xavier-edwards/49143/news
Edwards has been the Luis Arraez of Triple-A this season, but he’s been blocked by the real one in Miami. In 77 games for Jacksonville, Edwards has hit .374/.442/.484 with just 19 strikeouts. He also went 8-for-21 in a brief spell with the Marlins in May. It’s odd the Marlins never gave him a real shot during one of Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s injuries; they could have either played him in center or used him at second and moved Arraez to first. Now, with Chisholm healthy and Josh Bell and Jake Burger added as infield starters, there’s no clear path for him.
They are right about everything besides a clear path. There is a real easy 4-5 day a week starting spot open for him with all the time off Jazz needs, lefty time off for Jazz and Sanchez, random off days for Soler, Bell, Arraez, Burger, and DLC, and Garcia doesn't exactly need to play often.
I can't even explain this with service time as they'd have to wait until "May 2024" approximately to deflect a year of time. It's hard to see them not calling him up for effectively 70-90 more minor league games. What more does he need to do, provided he is not a literal clown in the field? And that ignores the literal clowns (Cooper, DLC, Soler, probably Bell) they play in the field.
