Berti has played more 3B for the Marlins than any other position and he lives in that OPS range and is very solid. If Segura can do that, he is fine, and it'll spike a little at 2B. I agree he should be playing against lefties at 2B and off days against right handers until he shows more - and maybe this HR wakes him up.
As for what they need, it's still a SS first and not a 3B/Segura replacement. Just kick him to the bench, even if 3B is his path to time. A legitimate 5 day a week SS would be a real game changer for them and they could effectively run out Arraez/Cooper, Wendle/Arraez, New SS/Berti, Berti/Segura as R/L platoons, with a lot of options with Berti kicking out to the OF and Cooper DH'ing also. It's why it's banging heads against the wall as to why they didn't sign one of the 4. Fucking cheap bastards
But yea, offense is really depressed so these lame .600 OPS hitters definitely play these days. A .750 OPS is the new .800 OPS to me. Reliever waves are killing hitter stats.
