Lewis Brinson last year thru 160 AB-.263/.306/.469 with 7 HR.

I've been waiting for this comparison ... almost looked it up myself a couple times. Brutal.

While I'm not defending the Soler and Garcia signings, I think everyone here knows I'm not a fan of either. Cherry picking by far Brinson's best 160 ABs of his career for the comparison doesn't really seem fair.

All of us (well except maybe one guy) knew this wouldn’t be an easy sweep or series win over the D’Backs (especially after seeing they had a had a soft tossing starter today).

But here we are: one Elisier Hernandez start away from getting swept at home by Arizona.

If there were a stat for managing wins above replacement don Mattingly would have to be the worst in baseball. He’s a truly terrible manager. Consistent over managing. No one loves benching their most productive hitters more often than Mattingly

Must be hard for Bryan DeLaCruz to sit on the bench and watch Garcia and Soler actually get to play every day. He's been a reliable .367 OBP guy since day one for the Marlins (118 OPS+).

Most know that LeBlanc of Jacksonville leads the AAA International League in batting. I'll bet you didn't know that STONE GARRETT is the Pacific League's leading man! A blast (or at least a blip) from the past.

After a blazing start to his first full minor league season, Kahlil Watson has things going totally in the opposite direction for the last ten games or so. On the plus side, he had five at bats without a single whiff last night. (Notable because he has struck out in nearly half his at bats this season.)

Anybody know if service time is a concern for Meyer? In this instance I'd understand waiting to get that extra year out of Meyer, because while Hernandez hasn't been great, he also hasn't been a disaster. If Meyer is good to go on service time to get us that extra year of control, then I agree he needs to be up.
