duvall played exactly as he has played everywhere else. carries us for a few games and goes silent for 10. good guy, decent player, but he wasnt going to exercise that option so to get another C option in Jackson is pretty good return. We're not done today.

If the Duvall told them he isn't exercising, then this is a no-brainer.
This is a hail mary hope and prayer, but hey, sometimes it works out and you get Cody Ross or Miguel Rojas for nothing.
They need 2 veteran OF next year FWIW, but one of them can be a really cheap guy to "get to Bleday" in the summer.
