Not to hate on a guy while he's hurt but my immediate though was that Alfaro lets the run in there

Not really. I actually don’t know what Wallach was doing on that play. Ball should’ve been caught in the air, but fortunately it worked out. Brinson made a nice throw. Nice to see Brinson do...something.

if we combined the best attributes of alfaro, Wallach, and leon, we would still have a pretty below average C

          • good win. any time you can take a series with your best players hurt you take it and run. Hopefully Dickerson can avoid the DL but if not it seems like Cooper is definitely gonna hit the DL and I honestly would have no earthly idea the lineup we trot out there this weekend

            C- Leon, Wallacgh
            1b- Aguilar
            2b- Isan
            SS- Rojas
3b- Anderson apparently is expected back this weekend and if not then monday
            LF- Brinson?
            CF- Sierra?
RF- Monte or Maybe even Bleday for a cup of coffee?

This team is incredibly banged up and it all happened so fucking fast.

            • great performance by Sandy. threw one bad pitch the entire game. He has become a legit top of the rotation guy and you can actually count on him going deep in games which is what sets good pitchers apart from great ones.

shit youre right. So I guess if one guy is needed its almost 100% gonna be monte and not bleday. Interestingly they optioned Castano today according to the team website so we will see who takes his spot in the rotation.

                  • I still like Castano as a pen arm.

                    • I think this'll be Castano's whole career bouncing between AAA and the majors when a starter is needed. I think he'll do it for a long time.

i do too. and I agree with nick he will bounce back and forth. he is a great depth arm and a great 4th guy in an ozuna trade. wish we got a more toolsy OF instead of relying on Sierrra's speed but I've been high on sierra in the past as well so I cant be that upset. we crushed that trade as hard as we blew the yelich trade. 2 years of ozuna that we were going to be tanking anyways for a potentially dynamic SS in Jazz, at worst a reliable, innings eating #2 in Sandy, and then a swing 5th starter/long reliever in Castano is great value. Especially if Jazz turns out to be the guy he looks like he was the first few weeks of the year.

I think we won the Ozuna trade no matter what. Again we could have gotten a better deal for Stanton from St Louis and traded Ozuna to Toronto or somewhere but its whatever. Ya Marlins pretty much picked whom they wanted and they went with Sandy over Dakota Hudson and Sierra over Arozrena and other OF. Too be fair Sierra was #5 prospect and didnt look bad in Majors in few games

As for Castano,I have no issues of what he is. Great depth arm who can SP or LR. Nothing wrong with this

                          • Again I know its what IF(NICK) but imagine if Stanton say OK to St Louis

Stanton to St Louis for Sandy and prospects(Package was BETTER than Ozuna)
Yelich OR Ozuna to Toronto for Bo Bichette and little more(Toronto offer Bo and 1 or 2 minor pieces and we wanted Vlad JR-they said NO and we went with Milwaukee)
                            Yelich OR Ozuna to?

Yelich to MILW was fine ... if only the return was Woodruff, Burnes, and Peralta (Brewer's #6, 18 and 23 at the time) instead of Brinson #1, Diaz (4) and Harrison (16).

                              • pablo has always been efficient with his pitches but he looks to be taking the same next step sandy took the last year or so where he can both pitch efficiently and be effective the 3rd time through the order which is what will set those guys apart as really good pitchers instead of just mid rotation pieces.
