aguilar has just missed a few pitches or else his numbers would be off the charts but he has been really solid despite only having 2 XBH's so far. his patience and plate discipline have been great.

Yimi Garcia’s stuff seems to have picked it up a notch in the closer’s role. Throwing some nasty cutters, and the 4-seamer has touched 98-99 mph. I thought the gun was just juiced in Atlanta but he touched 98 mph tonight.

Hopefully that continues and it allows others to develop roles in the pen, as well. Yimi is the only one with “closer stuff” so I guess it was meant to be.

they obviously haven't been perfect, no team is, but I don't think there is a single aspect of this organization that isn't better now than we were with Loria. On and off the field. Off the field they are trying to have a better relationship with the fans, they got a good tv and ballpark name deal, and it feels like they are actually honest with the fanbase when they speak as opposed to samson lying to our faces disingenuously every time he opened his mouth. On the field, they finally started to build this team the way this market needs in order to have sustainability. Investing in the draft, taking IFA seriously, really investing in player development and scouting, not signing guys to big contracts based on the side of the bed the owner woke up on, and I think most importantly they are sticking to the plan. Loria would never have a consistent, coherent plan to build this team, it was all about immediate results or whatever player he fell in love with that week (i.e. Buck, Saltalamacchia, etc). Not every move will work out but sticking to the plan of building from within and not straying is how you win in this market.

Only thing that needs improvement is the ballpark food. It's awful.

we're in really good shape now for this series winning with castano in game 1 with sandy and Pablo coming up. Castano's peripherals and lack of K's indicate its not sustainable but maybe he's just one of those guys who can be effective in an unconventional way. I gotta say I like Elieser Hernandez but I feel like Castano is kind of more consistent and less prone to blowups. Plus it feels like he's actually capable of getting past the 5th whereas elieser is 5 innings max if he can even get that far. Plus elieser's skillset is solid to come out of the bullpen and I've always thought hed make a good middle reliever although his results in the past out of the bullpen were bad.

Isn’t the food at the ballpark known for being diverse and good? I haven’t been in a long time, did they change something?
