With Hernandez and Sixto now hurt, the SP depth is about to be tested. I assume Neidert and Castano will be the next in line. It's a shame that Gio Gonzalez flamed out so badly. The Marlins could certainly use a veteran SP now. I would guess that we are looking into Anibel Sanchez, Jeff Samardzjida, Cole Hamels, and Rick Porcello right now.

Another avenue would be to make a trade with a team like the Jays who have 3 pretty solid catching prospects(Kirk, Moreno, and Adams).

Riley Adams would probably be the easiest to acquire, and it is debatable which of Moreno or Kirk has the higher ceiling. Kirk is a big ole boy though IIRC so me he might not stick at C. The Jays will likely be in the wild card hunt this season so hopefully one of the Marlins bullpen arms can draw interest.

Adams is older at 24(25 in June) but I think he could slot right into the lineup after the ASB.

I don't know, can we not bring in another guy with serious strikeout issues. 45 Ks in 109 MLB ABs.

he strikes out but he also walks a ton. he has good plate discipline. he reminds me of a better john baker from back in the day.

he's got 283 career walks in 362 minor league games. i don't take much from his major league stats yet as he barely has 100 ab's and is playing in a backup role sparingly behind grandal.

Collins is basically a wash with Alfaro offensively except he is awful defensively.
