September 2020 game thread

Stanek has been awful ever since we traded for him.

Arms that have any business coming out of the pen for us in the post season:

Kintzler
Yimi
Boxberger (even this one I feel uneasy)
Bleier
Hoyt
Rogers
Urena (only in mop-up duty though)

I'm guessing we probably carry 12 pitchers. So you gotta add 2 more. Why not add Cabrera in there, doesn't look like it'll happen, though.

You are missing Nick Vincent, who had a couple of rough outings lately, but was pitching well prior to that. I can't imagine Tarpley makes the roster. I would guess that if Castano pitches well tomorrow, he gets that 3rd lefty spot. Stanek was actually very good in his first inning of work today, I don't know why they tried to get another inning out of him other than to preserve arms. I am not saying that I would trust him in the playoffs, but my guess is Stanek makes the roster unless they decide to add Cabrera, which seems unlikely. I wish they'd give him an inning or 2 tomorrow.

I wonder if they will consider adding Lewin Diaz to the roster. Assuming that they are facing a RHP, and Joyce is starting, they don't have any lefty power on the bench. I would personally swap out Sierra for Diaz.

Anyway, the best thing about today's game was how good Rogers looked against a really good lineup. Hope something clicked for him in that Atlanta game.

And by the way...how much better is it to be having these conversations than what we have been talking about after every season the past 17 years?!?

This isn't a foregone conclusion. If we renegotiate with Sinclair, they still own what is now Fox Sports Florida, meaning even if/when they rebrand it, the employees (i.e. Paul and Todd) will still be there unless they fire them.....
