September 2020 game thread

So happy for Miggy Rojas. Not a lot of guys on this team who have been on the team for long, but to watch that guy grow over the years, and just consistently get better. He went from the guy in the monkey mask to I think unofficial team captain. Mr. Marlin #2.

He was literally a utility hitter who most thought would be a defensive replacement, maybe bottom of the lineup guy who wouldn't last long term...the progress he has made as a player has been remarkable. The surprise piece that turned the Dee Gordon trade into a win. Didn't even realize that was six years ago at this point.

Even with like 2/3 of the league making the playoffs, it's good to see that drought finally come to an end.

I was going to say isn't it time he gets to be Mr Marlin ? His "Clubhouse" series on the Marlins Youtube channel is awesome.

Even if you dont start him. Seems like today would be the time to use him. Pretty much all our top relievers are gassed. See if Roger's and Cabrera can give you 9 between them.

They say Clevinger and Lamet will be fine for the playoffs so I’d rather face the Cubs.

clevinger has a sprained elbow, he's not pitching next week. lamet they dont know yet but it's some sort of elbow injury. i like that matchup a lot more plus i like that bigger ball park with bigger gaps. i think that suits our team much more.

Very curious what they did with the pitching in this game. Trevor Rogers looked very good thru 3. They pull him because...??? Then pitched guys that have no business pitching in the postseason the rest of the game. I guess maybe to find out who was worthy of a postseason roster spot. The answer was nobody, meanwhile Edward Cabrera is still on the taxi squad.

Rogers was pulled because they want him available out of the bullpen starting Wednesday. Seems like he’ll be a key part of the bullpen. Tarpley will be off the roster, I’m guessing. Maybe Stanek too.

Stanek has been awful ever since we traded for him.

Boxberger (even this one I feel uneasy)
Bleier
Hoyt
Rogers
Urena (only in mop-up duty though)

I'm guessing we probably carry 12 pitchers. So you gotta add 2 more. Why not add Cabrera in there, doesn't look like it'll happen, though.
