September 2020 game thread

Teams that hit more HR’s than their opponents in the 2020 post season are 18-0. That’s our biggest obstacle to overcome in 2021.

yup, this exactly. we have the pitching, now we need the hitting to develop as planned. you can be an average team with good pitching and average hitting, but you cant be a great team. The way we play now we essentially try to paper cut teams to death because we have to string together a bunch of hits all the time to be able to score runs. the best teams can produce runs explosively because they have power than enables them to do that. I think we will see that in the upcoming years with Bleday, Jazz, and Lewin Diaz, but we will not take that next step until we can get the hitting to a point where we can have much more explosion out of the lineup

I like rojas in the bottom of the lineup to give us some punch down there but we're in the potential last game of the year and our lineup has been awful. It would be nice to get our best bats the most attempts in an important game.

Also, that first inning is an absolute trainwreck for us. If we make him work and get a big pitch count we have to cash in. Worst case scenario is him throwing a lot of pitches and not doing any damage because it gets us to their shut down bullpen way too quickly.
