against a pitcher with awful career numbers. our lineup is awful when they dont have 5 guys hot at the same time. the marlins need to take ownership over the fact that their lineup has been completely awful since saturday. and its not just the results, the at bats are horrendous and they are swinging at nonsense. alfaro cannot be in the lineup tomorrow and he wont anyways because fried is pitching and brinson will be in the lineup, but matt joyce cannot be starting. you cannot have a guy consistently hitting 4th in your lineup ahead of your two best hitters in anderson and cooper or aguilar who just cant hit. the guy has a .328 slugging percentage and a .669 OPS for the year, with him being bad vs both lefties and righties. he cannot continue to get starts at the expense of brinson.

          • FUCK YES NATSSSSS. walk off to beat the phillies and sweep the double header. Absolutely enormous for us. magic number is now 3 and we have our best 3 guys going the next 3 nights. absolutely enormous.

            • so we will have lost the first 2 in the series to the braves and gained .5 a game on the phillies. the phillies are horrendous and it's going to propel us to the playoffs when we kind of dont deserve it.

Not sure if this is fish16 or maddog. Same thing to me. We're 3 games away from the post season

haha its me this lineup is just really not very explosive and the lineup construction combined with the lack of power makes the prolonged droughts miserable to watch. throw in alfaro just being a black hole in the lineup and the need to force feed joyce at bats despite him being an awful hitter gets me super frustrated . i shouldnt take the successful season for granted and we likely are going to make the playoffs but i just feel like we can do such obvious things to make the team better with what we already have on the roster.

                  • also wonder whether the braves will give guys rest the next two nights with nothing to play for. same with the yankees over the weekend.

Marlins are in real danger of falling out now.....but at least Philiadelphia has fallen out now...with that payroll & Harper etc....well that makes me feel a bit better

                      • We’re not in that much danger. Top two teams from each division are guaranteed a spot. We are up 1.5 games on the Phillies and have any tiebreaker with them so we’re sitting pretty right now. Our magic number is 3 so any combination of 3 marlins wins or Phillies losses and we will make it. We have a good chance of clinching with a few games left in the year and our first round opponent is likely to be the Padres or potentially the braves or cubs since the cardinals have moved ahead of us

                        • We have pretty much already clinched a playoff spot. This is why they called up all the young guys to the taxi squad-wouldnt be surprised if u see alot of them in the NYY series

                            2B-Devers
                            SS-Jazz

                            LF-Monte
                            CF-Marte
                            RF-Jesus

                            SP-Cabrera

lineup on Sat or Sun!! If Cabrera looks great u could have a Sixto/Sandy/Pablo/Cabrera rotation for 1st rd

                            • We've already clinched a spot? The Phillies going 2-2 in their last 4 games is the most unrealistic thing ever? We're going to have to win some games.

                              • I figured the Marlins to go 2-5 in the final week ... but may well have been overly optimistic. We'll need a couple near shutout performances from a couple of our pitchers.
