What's fun about that is that he still gets a groundball on almost 45% of balls put in play. So, yeah, almost half of the time, he will do what he did there.

Last year, he was approximately at 45 (44.7%).
Every other year of his career he's been below 40.

He's been a flyball pitcher.

So far this year though (short sample), he's been a groundball guy.

To be fair, he did start throwing a new pitch (not sure what FS means on fangraphs) last year; that could be helping his GB rate. He's throwing that pitch 61% of the time this year.

40% (it's actually 37.5%) = flyball pitcher, though. He gets a good amount of strikeouts, at least.

I know. But thats misleading. It's not like he doesn't get a decent amount of GBs. There was a better chance he would get a GB than give up a hit, even.
