From the way people are talking I wouldn't be surprised if the LF/1B market takes another dive this offseason. So at that point we'd be in competition with the other 29 team in baseball with offering him some 1year/few mil contract. Which doesn't make it impossible for us, just that we then have competition if we don't want to overpay

I would like us to offer Nick Johnson a contract for next year and have a lineup of:

Maybin CF
Coghlan 2B
Hanley SS
Johnson 1B
Ross RF
Morrison LF
Cantu 3B
Baker/Platoon mate C

I'd rather have Uggla than Johnson next year considering LoMo is the same type of player as Johnson.

Both guys are about .800 OPS guys, Uggla will give you about 60 points higher slugging, and Johnson will give you about 60 points higher OBP, and considering I don't expect Maybin and Morrison to combine for as many HRs as Uggla usually puts up in a year I think he's the better fit.

Plus, Johnson has injury issues, and Uggla has really never gotten injured as a major leaguer.
