    Season Series: Marlins leads, 9-2

    Scouting Report:
Marlins: Volstad was perfect through four innings in his last start before surrendering a hit to Aramis Ramirez in the top of the fifth. The right-hander flustered Cubs hitters until the seventh inning, when Jake Fox clubbed a game-tying two-out, two-run homer. Volstad finished his start allowing two runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings while striking out five. The 23-year-old has allowed a home runs in seven of his last 10 starts and 10 home runs over that span.

Nationals: Stammen started for Washington on Saturday, and he had nothing in the tank. He lasted three-plus innings and gave up six runs on eight hits. While Stammen was on the mound, outfielder Lastings Milledge burned his former team in the third inning by hitting a two-run double. Stammen didn't record an out in the fourth inning.

Okay, that's too much for my very tired brain. All I can decipher is "We probably not gon win". I'm lost after that.

Just so I can be sure:

if we had lost one of the early season natinals games (the one hermida hit the homer for) and split the first two of this series, would people be freaking out?

I checked the game preview earlier and saw in the weather section that it was raining. I checked the hour by hour forecast and it's suppose to rain there until about 7 pm. It's entirely posible that this game could get postponed, especially considering how both teams are in the same division and the Marlins will be coming back to Washington in September.

That wouldn't actually be a bad thing. Then we wouldn't need the 5th starter this weekend. We could just run out Volstad, Ricky and JJ in the series against the Phillies that we need badly. Pray for rain!
