                No it's more a situation where if there's a bang-bang play and it's ambiguous about when the tag was down but also when the runner actually touched the base, i can understand going against the runner.

                If Hanley made a better slide, thereby making the call on the umpire, then fine, I'd be upset with the call, but I think it was incredibly close and it was just as tough to say when Hanley touched the plate as it is to say when he was tagged.

                Yes, it is a rule that you have to touch the base to be called safe.

                    The throw beat Uggla the other day when he made that riduculous slide and missed home, yet he was called safe. It was a close play, he may have got his foot in there but 9 times out of 10 that's an out. Barajas did a decent job of blocking the plate and Hanley slide right into his leg.
