I'd like to see more Power from Maybin, but that's really the only complaint I could have right now offensively. He's been awesome.

His approach has been so good, despite the high strikeout numbers. Going the other way, working counts, bunting for hits, running the bases well.

And since he left New York, the defense has been good too.

Yeah, my take on Cam is just that the power's not there, and probably won't be, but as long as he keeps walking and going the other way, I don't really care. Well, I do, but it's still good to see what he's doing.

I think he's focusing on maintaining that good approach. As he develops, maybe it starts coming more naturally and he can start looking for the power swing.

But what he's doing is fine for now.

With Maybin, I think he is just establishing himself at the plate. I have only seen a few home run swing attempts from him so far. IMO the power will steadily seep in.

Well, Maybin was never a big HR guy anyway if I am not mistaken. But it will come, gap power at least.

We're seeing Maybin put better and better swings up every game. What were weak seeing eye singles are now being lined into the outfield.

I had an idea last night but people will probably think its dumb...

sell the Hammerheads and stake in Roger Dean Stadium to the Orioles(who are perpetually looking for a new spring training home), take the vacated park the Red Sox were using in Fort Myers as the new spring training site, and as part of the deal the Marlins take over the Orioles affiliation in the Carolina League. Get out of the Florida State League which is notoriously tough on position players.
