  • Marlins @ Rays, 1:05 Pm

I guess I'll start a new game thread since someone closed my dual game thread.

This is definitely the better game to be at. The majority of our projected starters are playing in this game. Even Cody!

Bad admin was bad. It's a shame the O's are all the way in Sarah Soda this year.

Their rules section here is funny. They said "please don't run over anybkids trying to get a foul ball. It's just not cool".
      --------------------
When I went to Sarasota to get yesterday's ticket refunded, I realized that game would have been really hard to follow anyway. They did not have the scoreboard working and weren't announcing anything, either. It definitely would have been to do a scorecard.

Man, I forgot about the cowbells. Why do the Rays use cowbells again?

Wow, glad I didn't go to the "B" game.

We still won that game, and West only gave up 1 earned run.

That's not the point. Fredi is looking for guys that are throwing strikes. West has now walked 10 guys in 3.2 IP. That is not good.

Throwing strikes is great, I'm not denying that, but our pitching's been pretty bad. At some point you have to take results into consideration.

Results? He was supposed to pitch 3 Innings but drove up his pitch count so high by walking so many guys that he couldn't get out of the 2nd inning. How is that going to help us? He also is competing with 3 other guys for the 5th starter spot and two of them (VandenHurk and Penn) haven't walked hardly anybody. We'll have to see how Miller does today but West has thrown himself way behind the 8-ball in his two appearances.

Ricky works around Uggla's fielding error to throw a scoreless 1st.

              Leadoff double for Cantu.

Yes I am in Port Charlotte.

1-0 Marlins on a single by Storm Trooper (Paulino)! Gaby Sanchez is on 3rd after drawing a walk.
                  --------------------
BC strikes out to end the inning.

1-0 Marlins going into the bottom of the 2nd.

lol @ West. He has no chance breaking the rotation walking batters at that rate.

                      Results are cool.

10 walks in 3.2 innings is absolutely absurd. I don't care if you didn't give up any runs, if you walked 7. You absolutely cannot keep that up. If West's control is this bad, he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a major league rotation.

In Spring Training, results should matter far less than how you acheive those results.

Yeah, Swift, I'd say if you are going to take results like that into consideration, you should probably be a bigger Nolasco fan

Don't we all hate Renyel Pinto because he has crap control, even though he's been a really cool reliever?

Bases loaded for the Rays on 3 singles. 2 out.
                              --------------------
Ricky gets a groundout to Hanley to end the inning.

                              1-0 Fish after 2.
