  • Site is now officially upgraded. As of now it looks like we are no longer "dangerous", just "not secure" (which is just because we don't have SSL and is to be expected).

Obviously things look different around here. We'll get to rebuilding them and adding color bit by bit.

    • Huge 2-game sweep. The site is back, I lost my question marks, but things are good.

Was huge, let's hope they don't put a dagger into our hearts this next week.

          • dont look now but a nice little hot streak and our lineup is looking not only fairly solid but very few holes.

            Cooper- .823 OPS
            Rojas- .989 OPS
            Aguilar- .850 OPS
            Anderson- .823 OPS
Marte- .757 OPS since coming over and close to .800 for the year
Dickerson- .713 OPS and getting better as the year goes on
Alfaro is at .585 OPS but he is getting hot after a very slow few weeks when he came back.
Brinson has been phenomenal for the last month or so.

If we can get that kind of reliable hitting (not spectacular but everyone capable of chipping in and very few black holes in the lineup) to go along with a legit top 5 SP in the league along with sandy and pablo i think we are a legit threat in the NL.

Sixto is an absolute animal already. a legit superstar arm. throwing 100 mph in the fucking 7th inning is absurd.

Braxton garrett was decent but idk if the radar gun was off but he wasnt throwing what he was reported to be throwing coming up through the minors

            • if we can take care of the next 4 games we will make the playoffs. as it stands we are 3 full games ahead of the current 9 seed with 4 other teams in between us. we should make it regardless but taking care of business tonight then take 2/3 from the red sox when we have the pitching advantage and we should be golden.

we're actually going to do this.

              • also, with urena reportedly not going to make his next start, i wonder if they started garrett last night in order to make neidert available the next time urena's spot in the rotation comes up

Yeah the 89-90 mhp on Garrett scares me. Even Yamamoto has a higher velocity avg.

I can't stand one more start by Urena. I'd even rather have Castano then him.

                  • ya im over the urena experiment. he stinks. move on in the offseason and go full on with the young kids. it's time. the timeline has been moved up with sixto being a legit ace already. figure out the rest of the 4 and then grdually add meyer and cabrera sometime next year.

Sixto, Sandy, Lopez, Garrett, Rogers, Neidert until then. I think it might have been the radar gun for garrett though. it just doesnt add up with everything we had heard about him coming through the system. we will see next time out. I like the idea right now though of neidert being the long guy if anyone struggles early on in a game. don't let them get shelled, pull them before its too late and let nick and even urena eat some innings and hopefully keep us in a ball game rather than doing what we did in the 29-9 game vs atlanta.

                    • If they're willing to use Garrett, there's no reason to believe that Cabrera isn't a possibility. The thing is, I think you have to use him in the next week. He will have had 2+ weeks to build up his arm strength. If he looks 100% at Jupiter, even if he may not be built up to 80-100 pitches, I think we have to see him in Washington if we're really going for it.

Also, frustrating we've heard nothing about Max Meyer, the fact that he would need a 40-man spot makes him less of an option, but man would it be fun to have him coming out of the pen late in games.

                      • Projecting the rotation for the week:

                        Mon: Pablo
                        Tue: Sandy
                        Wed: Rogers
                        Thu: Urena's spot (Neidert???)
Fri: Game 1: Sixto, Game 2: Garrett
                        Sat: Pablo
Sun: Game 1: Sandy Game 2: ?????????? (CABRERA PLS!)

the max meyer thing i think was always overstated as far as his potential impact this year. that's asking quite a bit from a guy who was drafted two months ago to debut this year without even being in any minor league real games.

Cabrera i think will debut sunday. But you also have to remember with him that he was a level behind sixto. he was only above jupiter for 38 innings. hasnt really stopped garrett or rogers but still he is super young and inexperienced.

I really want to see neidert replace urena. i think he really is being overlooked out of all of these arms. i see him being a really solid back end guy for a few years whether its here or whether we trade him for a bat.

He's on the 60-man, that means they've at least considered the possibility at some point.

correct me if im wrong but doesnt being on the 60 man just mean he's part of the jupiter group? As in, if he's not part of the 60 man he cant be part of the players getting daily instruction in jupiter and is instead at home forced to develop by himself? Because if so i think the addition to the 60 man is more of them wanting to keep an eye on him every day as the #3 pick in the draft more so than them really looking at him as a legit option for this season.

                              • Could JT Realmuto be coming back to the Marlins ? Philly hasn't signed him yet....some people in a group were speculating about that today. Do you think Jeter/Sherman & JT/Agent could have any talks about this ?
