Ineffective? He looks like utter crap. Well they see him as a RP in the future and dont wanna give guys away for NOTHING. Here is the thing yes guys like Yamamoto/Dugger/Holloway/Castano arent great and are RP in Miami-28 other teams would jump all over them because #1 they are cheap arms,#2 Can be SP(in fact lots of teams like them as SP) and #3 have options

Miami doesnt wanna DFA guys who could possible stick around for 5 years for a guy who could stick around for 5 weeks. This is also why u see them calling up Eibner and even Quezada now. They are hoping these guys can get them through a game or 2. Yes they could DFA Eibner and recall Brigham BUT then when Neidert is needed on Sunday they have to figure stuff out. Now they can DFA Eibner and call up Neidert

What dont u get? He is on the 40 man roster and the game is 7 innings. Mattingly thinks he can go 3 or 4 innings and has proven he can

They are dying to call up Neidert but as soon as u do u lose a possible arm for 3 games. Remember they play what 15 games in 10 days so any arm who can help is great.

Neil Walker AND Jake Lamb are both in DFA limbo. If they want 1 of them for the playoffs gotta be on roster by Sept 15. Be interested to see if they DFA Eddy Alvarez and jump on 1 of them

    • TJ, do you realize you said a lot of teams see Yamamoto as a SP?

I think you missed the sarcasm of Yamamoto being “ineffective”.

We're trying tomorrow as last week got scratched. Same warnings apply. Site may go down for a bit.

        • Just saw tonite's lineup. In what world, what dimension, do you start Isan Diaz over Jazz? Neither can be relied on to hit, but the gigantic fielding and speed advantages go to Chisholm.

Probably a world where Isan had a .973 OPS at AAA last year, while Jazz had a .761 OPS at AA. Jazz is ahead of schedule this year and not lighting the world on fire with his bat, time to find out if we got something with Diaz. If Berti were healthy I'm skeptical either would be playing.

            • It's tough when you're in a playoff race and throwing the likes of Jose Urena out there.

              • Maybe Lewis Brinson doesn’t suck? That’d be a nice development.

You could almost say it’s “Sweet”.

Don’t look now but Sweet Lew has a .310 wOBA.

                  • we need a double header sweep today with sixto on the mound in the first game and 2 bad pitchers going for the phillies.

                    • Anderson sure seems to be struggling defensively this season. Almost tops the league in errors with eight ... but that doesn't even tell the story. He's not making the plays we're used to seeing from him. Poor throws are resulting in infield "hits" and unexecuted double plays (see wide throw to second on an automatic dp grounder off Realmuto's bat last night).

Why the heck can't Miami announce a SP for game two today? Are they holding tryouts or what?
