ya ill guarantee you smith doesnt get anything significant. castano has 0 value and they wont trade trevor rogers.
These SP have more value then u think right now. Just wait till u see what Clevinger brings in later today. I know Smith/Castano/Elieser/Rogers arent Clevinger but the market is insane for anything young/controllable

    - - - - - - - - - -

Guys who would bring 35+ guys are now bringing 45 type. See Givens yesterday-Baltimore was talking with us about Holloway and mid level prospect they ended up with 2 really solid prospects and a PTBNL

dude im a homer and youre an even bigger homer. castano has 0 value. he isnt a good pitcher, has nothing in terms of "Stuff", and he isnt young. his peripherals indicate substantial luck.
Rogers has value but they arent trading him because it makes no sense to do so. Mike clevinger has been not only generally healthy but one of the best pitchers in baseball. any comparison to any of those guys is absurd.

Elieser i think does have a decent amount of value and he is someone id consider trading for the right hitting piece but ive seen where they are unlikely to do so.

Marlins getting a lot of hits on closer Brandon Kintzler. But despite recent hitting woes, they are in playoff position, haven’t given up and need pen themselves. Their position: he stays. They do have extra rotation arms such as Urena and Caleb Smith who could go.

Marlins are open to trading ANYONE who FA after year

        Box
        Villar
        Joyce
        Yimi
        Vincent

Reason being is 40 man crunch and decent offers. Could see them get a David Phelps for Holloway and then trade a Yimi or Box for prospects OR get a RP in a bigger deal and trade RP.

Also have taken calls on Brigham/Stanek/Conley/Urena/Caleb/Neidert/Elieser/Yamamoto/Holloway(see a pattern-ARMS)

Like Heyman said Kintzler getting hits but has option for next year so highly doubtful he goes

        • Mish tweets that the Marlins currently have nothing imminent happening. Guess we will see if that changes before 4pm.

Also, Ken Rosenthal tweeted the Jays are talking to us about Villar.

Ya still too early. Dont forget we still have a game today

Around 1-3PM be interested to see lineup for today and if guys get pulled or are unavilable

ANY guy who is a FA is on market!! Reason being is the 40 man issue

I hate saying this with Lee around but Eddy Alvarez made Villar expendable HAHAHA Ill take Griffin Conine and a C for Villar and some cash

            • If the Marlins could get a Lewin Diaz for Romo type return, I'd trade Kintzler in a second.

With Sixton's scintillating start, some are annoiting him as a future ace. I sure like what I've seen. So ... how do we end up taking Elieser Hernandez so lightly?? He has more K's per inning and a significantly lower WHIP than Sanchez thus far. We didn't even have to give up the game's best catcher to get him. He's nuthin but a Rule V pick. Adding to this, unlike Sanchez, who major league hitters have never seen, Hernandez is getting his results from hitters who HAVE seen him plenty.

Villar and Alcantara and Andujar for Guerrero Jr. Toss in Kintzler too.

Why do you hate saying it? Alvarez is a really nice player with great defense and speed. Given regular playing time, I feel certain he'll hit. Despite his low batting average thus far, the team was winning with him in the lineup.

I'm not opposed to trading Villar, but they would definitely need to replace him with another bat somehow. Also, starting Alvarez doesn't solve anything. I think the more likely scenario would be Berti starting at 2nd. At the very least, you'd get Ramirez back into the lineup, but if they intend on trying to contend, trading Villar and replacing him with some combo of Ramirez/Eddy Alvarez is not nearly good enough.

Would be Berti,Sean Rodriguez and Alvarez at 2B remember this is only for 2020. Isan back next year,Devers is on 40 man and Jazz could be up in 2021 which means Rojas at 2B?

Jesus can play CF but wouldnt be surprised if SP for new CF also

                  • Just had another thought...perhaps trading Villar opens up a spot for Jazz. Move Miggy to 2nd...

They were aggressive in promoting Diaz, Monte, and Jesus so far, why not Jazz as well? If you are losing Villar from the lineup, I don't see how you replace him with Alvarez/Rodriguez and expect to compete. I guess it depends on whatever else they do, but going from Villar to AAAA type utility players is a huge drop off.

So many teams are interested in relievers, and #Dbacks Archie Bradley is among many relievers #Marlins have expressed interest. Bradley is arb eligible in 2021 and a free agent in 2022.

Marlins like Bradley and Yoan Lopez but also into Sterling Marte/Jake Lamb

Issue as is with LAA and KC. Arizona wants SP that Miami dont wanna deal and Miami offering SP that Arizona dont want HAHA

Very possible on Jazz and Rojas to 2B just hearing that Alvarez/Berti/Sean Rodriguez is most likely. Jazz up in 2021

Lots of moving parts in and out right now!! Denbo and Mike Hill both working phones

Yes, they were aggressive with I Diaz, L Diaz, Jesus and Monte ... and how did that work out? When you have a young talented rotation that throws lots of ground balls, the least you can do is put top flight defense behind them. It doesn't get better than Alvarez. Besides, there's no reason to think Alvarez won't improve as a hitter with his hand/eye coordination.

Kind of odd timing, no? Opens a 40 man spot...

Doesnt open up a 40 man spot since on Rona list. Probably tried to trade him no takers and they got Vesia/Bleier/Leibrandt with Tarp on DL
