  • So we've got 48 games left. We're inexplicably in 1st place. We're actually 3 games up on the 3rd place team. Top 2 teams automatically make the playoffs. Time for the FO to get serious. No more starts from the likes of Castano and Yamamoto. Lewis Brinson and Monte Harrison have to go. Time to start strategically utilizing our talented youngsters at Jupiter and then come a week or 2 make a move to make the team better.

Monte probably stays up as he is 25 and they wanna see him but Brinson lost his job to Sierra. Yamamoto is likely a RP when we see him next/Castano could be claimed

ALL guys are able to come IL tommorrow and have heard multiple ones are cleared-pretty much just have to get in game shape.

Very unlikely we call up any of our Top prospects this year still

Its a AAA park what do u expect? Its gonna be like this all year there

325 to LF while Marlins park is 344. Like every MILB park as long as u dont hit it straight away CF its a HR

This is why every better is playing the OVER on Blue Jay home games and some guys were throwing out Vlad Jr as HR Champ

      • This isn’t the season to allow Harrison to strike out 55% of the time while Slugging .111.

        • I have so much more confidence in Sierra right now than Brinson or Harrison. He's been working the counts, hitting, and has a really good/accurate arm. No one has dared running on him yet.

We'll have to make some changes in the bullpen. Mattingly keeps going to the same 3-4 guys all the time. Last night it was just bad.

Thanks god for Anderson and Aguillar.

            He walked
i dont care if he walked in one at bat it is clear from watching him every time up he is completely guessing every single time and he has 0 ability to recognize pitches. i'd certainly hope he walked in that ab, the guy threw him the same breaking ball consistently and he flailed at it the first few times. it's the reason why he never makes any real consistently good contact- his swings are always defensive and reactionary and not as if he is prepared and ready to take advantage of any mistakes. he's gotta go. we've given him enough tries, it's just not gonna work. move on, bring up jesus sanchez or play sierra more, and just stop acting like something will change. his ab's are so meek and defensive.

Not sure what can be done about the bullpen other then continuing to scour the DFA heap. Doesn't help that I think the 2 guys that have looked best from our initial scouring Bleier and Morin are now injured. Hopefully these guys can hang on for reinforcements.

The best thing that can help this bullpen is starters going 5-6-7 innings.

Agree completely about the starters. They desperately need Lopez and Hernandez to go longer into games until the rest of the starting 5 return. Also, I think once Yimi, Bleier, and a few others get healthy, the back end of the bullpen can be pretty good when you mix in Hoyt, Vincent, Tarpley, etc.

                • AUG. 12: Acuna missed the Braves’ loss to the Yankees on Wednesday, and manager Brian Snitker said he’ll sit out their series against the Marlins from Friday to Sunday, per Bowman. Acuna is dealing with inflammation.

This is a rather helpful bit of news.

Yimi, Vesia, Neidert will be very welcome come Monday or so I would guess. All the guys should be.

                  • Is the FO waiting for Anderson to put up a 1.200 OPS before they extend him?

                    • Is anyone else mad about the condensed game format on MLB.com too? A few years ago it was every out/hit without the voices... now it's pretty much like the game recap.....

I want to see every hit/out not only the HR and SOME scoring. It's been over a year like this

We probably wont see all arms back yet. #1 they gotta have 2 negatives(some already are good) and #2 gotta get in shape. They are gonna take time make sure no arms get hurt

Bats on other hand should be back fast. Rojas/Harold/Alfaro

                        • It's been 3 weeks for Alfaro. Would be nice to have him back and be able to utilize the DH to keep both Cervelli and Alfaro in the lineup.

Hopefully he can build back up quickly and get back a start in on this home stand. I also hope this means all the others are close to returning as well.
