But then why is Baltimore now playing the Yankees Wednesday and Thursday? That's adding games they weren't supposed to play, so now NYY and BAL are set to play 12 games instead of 10 this year. My head is hurting.

    • Apparently we will play Baltimore next week instead of Philly.

ok so it seems like they're re-writing entire schedules, I guess I'll stay tuned.

        • It makes sense. Marlins have more opportunities to play the Phillies so we can do doubleheader’s there and same with Yankees and orioles

Still lots of moving pieces. But it looks like the schedule plan in play for next week is #Yankees-#Phillies and #Orioles-#Marlins if they're cleared to play.

The original schedule next week was Yankees-Orioles and Phillies-Marlins. So the NY-Bal matchup this week frees them up.

This could help the Marlins remain more competitive. They'd have 9 days since their last game then some games against Baltimore. By then, hopefully they start to get some of the players back.

I think your last point is the goal. It’s one thing if we have to replace 5 or 6 guys who might still have it but 16 is a little ridiculous to expect us to figure out how to handle

              • Reports coming out that some players on the team went to a strip club while they were in Atlanta.

If you go the guy's twitter he's just a troll with no connection whatsoever. I don't believe this. If you check Tom Koehler twitter he's saying that the players were taking some crazy precautions.

Whatever the cause of the outbreak, with all of the rumors floating around, it sure would be nice if someone from the team would come out and defend the players. Either a player, Mattingly, or Jeter need to speak out. If players didn't go out irresponsibly, just come out and say so...even if a some players didn't follow protocol, it certainly wasn't all the players and in that case, most of the team doesn't deserve all of the criticism they are getting.

                    • The postpone was a compromise between MLB and Miami because Miami did NOT want to call up there young guys and MLB would not let them call up guys and then send them down without DFA when healthy guys back

Expect us to claim guys who are DFA and start IL the sick guys. Names on list are James Hoyt,Tyler Bashlor,Rob Brantly,Kean Wong,Jose Siri,Folty and likely few others AND call up Brinson,Monte,Yamamoto. Maybe add Alvarez,Lavarnway,Josh A Smith and sign a few FA

So it will be a team with 12 or so NEGATIVE guys,3 prospects,3-5 60 Man Pool guys and 10 of so DFA guys for a week to 10 days

                      - - - - - - - - - -

Reason they postponed Philly was 2 reasons to be cautious and able to switch future schedule easier.

If Rob Brantly starts a game for us at catcher, that’d be good enough for me to not watch that game.

They Prefer to use Lavarnway but this is easier option for backup/3rd C

                          Here is the dilemma

Claim Brantly and when C healthy u can DFA him no issues
Add Lavarnway and when C healthy u have to DFA him and probably lose him to SF or another team who needs a backup

Same issues as to why we are claiming 1000 RP

Easier to claim these guys and DFA in 10 days then add a Quezada,Vincent,Northcraft,Eveld and lose them

Miami was trying to get a wavier to add all these guys but couldnt

right decision by the marlins and good on mlb for compromising. we should not have to lose a year of service time for all of our top prospects because of a fucking pandemic.

also, how about jeter coming out and saying the players will now be tested everyday. why the fuck would every team NOT be testing every day in the middle of an awful pandemic when they are not in a bubble and are traveling all over the country every 3-4 days? How fucking stupid is this plan if they werent going to be testing every day from teh get go. especially when they arent getting test results back for up to 2 days some times? You're just asking for the season to have to be cancelled

MLB was actually right but Im not mad. Marlins just dont wanna blow a year of control on Lewin,Cabrera,Jesus,Sixto to play them in 10 games. Like I have been trying to say since March,Miami isnt looking to play any of the young guys in 2020. 2021 is the year they have pointed to as the 1st year of "NEW"

Whole point of 40 man is for guys to be in MLB and the 60 man pool was suppose to supplement. If it was 4 or 5 guys I dont think Miami would have had any issue-but with 17 guys its different

                              • Is there really any difference between Lavarnway and Brantly? Why would they care which one that they lost? I get not wanting to burn a year for prospects, but if they lose Josh A. Smith or Travis Snider through waivers in a few weeks, who cares?
