Marlins star and leader Miguel Rojas has tested positive. He leads the NL with a .700 batting average, .750 OBP, 1.300 slugging percentage, 2.050 OPS and 476 OPS plus. Of course half the team is positive.

I’d assume if the nationals don’t come to us this weekend we’re just gonna have to make up 7 fucking games over the course of an already truncated season? That’s an awful plan. Even worse is playing with 16 new players the majority of which are guys making their big league debuts. Manfred has got to go.

They also better give us service time protections. We shouldn’t be penalized in the future in terms of service years because baseball is a shitshow with awful leadership

Even though I don’t understand, from a scheduling standpoint, how one team can pause and the rest just keep playing.

i believe that means the playoffs might have to be pushed back and we will have a number of double headers with the nationals. i dont see how they can make up 4 games with the orioles in the middle of the schedule considering we dont play them again. they could have if they didnt push all 4 games with them this week and instead spread them out across different points in the season.

we just claimed michael morin from the brewers. decent numbers last year with the twins and phillies, judging by his numbers and lack of k's he's probably a sinkerballer who pitches to contact.

I do not believe that there is any evidence that getting it twice is actually a thing, despite some anecdotal stories that pop up from time to time. I actually just read a story about this in the past week from the Washington Post. While nobody is ruling the possibility of reinfection out, doctors believe that most of the reported cases are likely people not completely clearing the virus the first time or testing errors. If reinfection were common, given how many people already have had the virus worldwide, there would be a lot more reports of that happening at this point.

that's fair. could be anecdotal from the stories that ive seen but i have seen confirmed stories of a few people getting it and having to go to the hospital twice a few months apart

Your response tells me deep down you believe I could be right right, and your lashing out is just as childish as one of tRump's temper tantrums.

Bleday never sees a day in a Marlins uniform, he will probably debut in a Yankee's, Dodger or Braves uniform. This ownership doesn't want to really win, but to just be a farm feeder for the real teams that want to contend. Until they field a team that can have a winning season I won't be convinced.

They can make more $$$ if they remain low payroll and trade assets for prospects --- sustainability is not an athletic term, but an economic one, and since the opening press conference and they said that I knew it was going to Loriaesque just maybe smarter.

The attendance tells you what most of Miami thinks about the Marlins.....they are the butt end of a lot of jokes, and you still don't get that fans here won't come back just because they are 4 or 5 games over .500 & then trade Bleday because they'll have to pay him and don't want to do it. Look at Anderson.....if he was ID'd as a core player you should have wrapped him up after last season ended....now it'll be more expensive to do it....so you know he's going to be traded before they have to pay him, same will happen to Bleday, and any of the pitchers.....

You're still basing your thoughts on past ownership. We don't know what this new group will do. If they start doing that with the recent draft picks down the road, I'll be right there with you, but you are just making things up at this point. They've been talking with Anderson about an extension.....Sure sounds like they're getting rid of guys. You want to sign a guy to a deal immediately?

We've not been run well, but we have more WS wins than those 3.

If that's the case we pretty much don't have any replacement players. Lets say the 30 in jupiter had a possible contact with someone that tested positive. It's over a week now, but less than the 14 incubation period.

Also, I don't get why bus instead of the plane. Only if its like 5 buses, especially since buses are more cramped and have a worst filtration system than planes.... in addittion to being sometimes 4x the time inside the bus.

Also, Mia to Baltimore its more like 15-16 hour drive. I did it in March.

When I flew private you pretty much walk your way to the plane. No one even checks your bag or nothing.

Marlins season now officially paused through Monday. Next game is 1 week from today. It is the right move. Hopefully this gives the Marlins time to get some players back and add reinforcements.
