Do they? 10 hr drive but seriously they would take plane then buses. Its a 2 hr drive from Philly to Baltimore and 2 hr flight from Miami to Baltimore

Looks like plan right now is 2 games "postponed" and hope for DH on Thursday. If need be play a DH vs Baltimore at end of year as needed

Probably smart just to flip games to Washington(take bus from Baltimore to DC) then later in year flips games from Washington at Home to Miami at Home if they want

Not like owners are losing ticket, merch, food revenue or anything

Nationals players have voted to not fly to Miami to play the ostracized Marlins

Why would flying players from Jupiter be an issue? They haven’t been around the infected Marlins.

I know thats why I said this

Jupiter/others fly to Baltimore and negative players bus to Baltimore on Wed
          DH vs Baltimore on Thursday
Bus to DC and play Nats there

Owners arent losing anything since NO fans,no merch,no food is sold so who cares where they play

          - - - - - - - - - -

The MAJOR issue right now seems to be Miami is unwilling to call up the young guys on 40 man roster. They want to call up non 40 man guys on 60 player pool and when Rona Virus guys get healthy be able to send them back without DFA or anything

MLB is telling them call up Sixto/Jesus/Jazz and whoever is on 40 man

This is why u see us jumping on DFA guys

Let's see but I think teams are going to refuse to play the Marlins, it's not about where it's about playing a team that is infected.....yes I know the negative players will be on the field, but sometimes you can test negative & still be a carrier for a day or two....teams want nothing to do with the Marlins. I heard a Nationals rep say they should just shut the Marlins franchise down for the year.

Thats what I would do. Give Miami #1 Pick in draft and shut team down but MLB is saying the whole reason its 60 man pool is for this exact reason. 10 guys get sick and u should have 20+ to chose from with Miami's response being-They dont wanna call up any young guys yet

MLB isnt gonna do any shutdown or postpone however UNLESS like 8 teams get outbreak OR NYY/LAD get it

              • It’s so easy to say “shut the Marlins down” but what do you do about the schedule? What happens when this happens again to another team? You just shut everyone that has an outbreak down? You either shut everything down or you keep going at this point.

I agree the greedy owners will never shut it down.....they are finally making some tv ad revenue....MLBPA would have to take a vote to do a work stoppage...its how many players would go along....many make a lot of money but many also own some fancy toys too....they have to be paid for....it's going to be interesting & could this cause a player rift...the top players may want to shut it since they have plenty but minimum wage guys might vote to keep playing....and the sensitivity of the subject with family possibly being affected & small businesses etc....it's a real conundrum.

                  • Players arent gonna vote to shutdown they are as greedy as the owners, shutdown means NO cash

Marlins players who are negative wanted to go to Baltimore to play already. If MLB would have let Miami call up the 60 man pool guys u probably would have a DH against Baltimore Wed and Thurs

that's why Manfred & player reps should have come up with a much better & more comprehensive plan before hand, but the rush to reopen, to placate the millionaires/billionaire owners is always going to be paramount when you have a society driven by $$$ instead of that of human health interests.

Profits over people, baby....its now when you see all the faults of unfettered capitalism. Meanwhile other countries look on in horror at what is going on in the USA.

A lot of them were in Atlanta where most people think this all started.

Also, MLB is saying call up the rest of your 40. OK, but we have 15 guys with Covid. 30 guys on the active roster. That means 10 left on the 40 that only gets you to 25. That means 5 players need to be added to the 40 that wouldn't otherwise, that does not seem fair at all to me.

It's not fair but since when does being fair to the Marlins enter into the conversation with MLB regarding the Marlins.....

Marlins appear unlikely to play their scheduled games in Baltimore Wednesday and Thursday. Waiting on next steps.

If that's the case we pretty much don't have any replacement players. Lets say the 30 in jupiter had a possible contact with someone that tested positive. It's over a week now, but less than the 14 incubation period.

Also, I don't get why bus instead of the plane. Only if its like 5 buses, especially since buses are more cramped and have a worst filtration system than planes.... in addittion to being sometimes 4x the time inside the bus.

Also, Mia to Baltimore its more like 15-16 hour drive. I did it in March.

Marlins star and leader Miguel Rojas has tested positive. He leads the NL with a .700 batting average, .750 OBP, 1.300 slugging percentage, 2.050 OPS and 476 OPS plus. Of course half the team is positive.
