What a kick in the nuts that'd have to be for Harold. Gets sent down after outperforming Brinson in every way possible last year, just because Brinson had a couple good weeks in spring training.Comment

I’d imagine they just trade cooper and use one of the utility guys as backup 1b just based on the comments we’ve heard about cooper over the last few months. I have no idea why they don’t seem to like him but everything I read they don’t think he can stay healthy even though he’s just had a bunch of bad luck injuries. I think they end up trading him for some sort of lower level guy with talent, keeping Harold as the platoon guy getting a few starts a week spelling Dickerson, brinson, and maybe isan with villar moving to 2b occasionally.
They seem to want Dickerson to be a 130 start guy as opposed to everyday and with villars versatility I think they can find a way to get everyone a good amount of playing time if they decide to trade coopComment

Opening Day delayed by at least 2 weeks too
Following a call with the 30 Clubs, and after consultation with the Major League Baseball Players Association, Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. today announced that MLB has decided to suspend Spring Training games and to delay the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus pandemic. This action is being taken in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, Clubs and our millions of loyal fans.
MLB will continue to evaluate ongoing events leading up to the start of the season. Guidance related to daily operations and workouts will be relayed to Clubs in the coming days. As of 4:00 p.m. (ET) today, forthcoming Spring Training games have been cancelled, and 2020 World Baseball Classic Qualifier games in Tucson, Arizona have been postponed indefinitely.
MLB and the Clubs have been preparing a variety of contingency plans regarding the 2020 regular season schedule. MLB will announce the effects on the schedule at an appropriate time and will remain flexible as events warrant, with the hope of resuming normal operations as soon as possible.
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our players, employees and fans. MLB will continue to undertake the precautions and best practices recommended by public health experts. We send our best wishes to all individuals and communities that have been impacted by coronavirus.Comment

There are gonna be so many events canceled it will be interesting g to see whether there are blanket refunds given or just credits towards future games/events. My wonder is how this is made up, if at all. Depending on how long this goes it would be interesting to see whether this missed time is made up at the current scheduled end of the season or we just go with a shortened season. The longer it goes on the more likely it is a shortened season because you can only make up so much time before the tail end of the playoffs runs into legit cold and winter weatherComment

My guess is shortened season, but how do they do it ? Cut out mid-week games? And restructure the games that will be played. From what I have seen it looks like they believe it might be peaking around the end of May - So just start the restructured schedule after the all-star break ?
