Trammell reminds me a lot of Brinson/Harrison. I'd look at maybe Luis Campusano and/or Ryan Weathers.

I really like the idea of raiding their farm system and bailing them out of the cash. Their best hitting prospect left (Trammell) is a CF and MLB ready post Super-2 deadline.
Mejia, Hedges
Hosmer, Naylor
Profar, Garcia
Tatis Jr.
Machado, Kinsler/France
Pham
Margot
Grisham, Cordero
This seems like a good opportunity to absorb a lot of Myers money and buy prospects
Wil myers aint it for me though. Id limit it to guys with only 1-2 years left. He's got another 3 guaranteed years at 20 million per plus a club option for a fourth that would obviously be declined. It's crazy how much wil myers and the teams that he has been on have relayed his huge prospect status into getting good players for him and then him getting a huge contract for himself.

the one guy that it seemed like the padres were eager to dump that i wish we got in on was urias. Granted we have middle infield prospect depth but that guys hitting ability seems very altuve light to me. The brewers are gonna have a very cheap and great hitting middle infield for the next several years between him and hiura.

Let's say the Padres eat $20 million of the remaining $60.
Marlins get:
Wil Myers+$20 million
Luis Campusano-C
Ryan Weathers-LHP
Michael Baez-RHP
Hudson Head-CF
Owen Miller-SS
Padres Get:
Jose Urena
Adam Conley
Something like this is what it would take for me. Maybe have that the Padres foot the bill on the $20 million in 2022. You should have lots of cool prospects big league ready in 2022, and maybe an opportunity to make a splash in Free Agency that offseason.

Here is a Heyman tweet

Marlins are considering Castellanos and Ozuna but may wind up looking to next OF tier. Avisail Garcia could fit as could Yasiel Puig (tho it’d be interesting to see him back playing for Mattingly).
He would love to come to Miami and was actually thinking he was until Mattingly resigned then went from #1 target to we will look at him. Denbo and the FO likes him and Puig wants to come to Miami issue is Mattingly and him are like oil and water.Last edited by tjfla; 12-08-2019, 08:49 AM.

I am conflicted on Puig. I love the idea where he is the June-September player last year where he was awesome, and his general upside of 2013-2014 (long time ago) and 2017, but he's had 3 duds the last 5 years (2018 was solid when you account for low PA/games).
If we think he is a 2.5+ WAR bat his age 29-31 seasons, I'm all for it (add a club option, i.e. create value). He's averaged 2.17 WAR last 3 years per 600 PA, with a massive defensive drop last 2 years. It's not asking for much improvement, but he has historically had low motivation and an attitude. The Marlins don't really have veteran leadership to keep him in line, as there isn't a Kershaw, Votto, or Kluber in this locker room. It's risky how I see this.
I think I'd still prefer Castellenos, Ozuna, or wacky trade ideas like absorbing Myers for prospects, but I could be convinced this is a good idea at the right price. Maybe 3/$33, 4th year $13 option, $3 million buyout. So 3/$36 or 4/$46.

If they did that, I still think I'd want to see a hypothetical Bleday/Sanchez, Monte, Misner/Scott/Nunez/Devers, and Mejia/Soriano/Fitterer trade for an epic CF.
The reverse Yelich trade.
