So it looks like it will be a 6 man rotation and that Alcantara might be sent down to the minors. Sucks that Chen is one of those 6 but really Sandy hasn’t put it together. 11 walks in 15 innings.
Basing this off a tweet of Craig Misch who said one of the young guys might start in the minors.

Chen was always going to make the starting rotation.
He could have literally took a shit on home plate in his last start and he’d still be in the rotation.
Cause moniez and stuff. This FO is smarter than Jeffrey Lolia but they’ve got a long way to go to be top tier.
O'Brien optioned to AAA. That could mean Cooper starts in RF and that Harold Ramirez makes the team (he has an opt-out for today). Could also mean that they expect to add another OF somehow.
Why is Ferrell’s bicep tenditis a “wink wink,” tjfla? That’s a fake injury? Lol
Saying its funny. They did it last year with Elieser and Graves too. Elieser had wisdom teeth removed and spent first month in minors and Graves had oblique till June
Rule 5 guys only need to be on roster 90 Days so if u put him on IL for few weeks u get to keep a Brice or get a DFA guy. Bicep tendinitis means month shutdown so if he is out till June its legit and if he is throwing in 2 weeks and back end of April its wink wink
I aint bitching about it-a great way to get more talent in the system and every team does it. I just always think its funny when guys have big injuries than all of a sudden magically recover. Philly has like 3 OF that have to be DFA if don't make the team and all 3 are "injured" and gonna be on IL
Teams do this because 2 weeks into the season 95% of teams dont have free spots or dont wanna mess with 40 man so they can sneak guys thru DFA if u do it now every team has an open spot and your guys are gone
