They got Maybin and Brinson for CF and if u need someone for more than day or 2 then call up Braxton Lee. Just saying he could play there if needed in a pinch

Its really absurd that we're gonna put a damper on a really relatively solid offseason start to the rebuild by just throwing out a year of service time for Alcantara and Brinson by putting them on the opening day roster on a team that will lose 90-100 games.

good to hear on Alcantara. Brinson I actually totally understand why they would do that but I just hope they dont. also i think he isnt ML ready yet given his plate discipline in the spring despite the nice stats. Anderson is ready and im fine letting him play every day.

if he struggles they could always send him down for a month when Prado is ready and avoid the service time issue that way. Either way im really excited to see what Anderson can do in a full season and what he ends up becoming. He reminds me of a poor mans Mike Lowell for some reason. Also its just nice to see an actual plan at 3b following years of stop gap types. I can see him being a .270 hitter with 20-25 hr's, 90 RBI's, and an .800-.830 OPS type guy (at his peak obviously not this year). Not a superstar but if the power surge he had last year is for real then I think he is our clear cut 3b for the foreseeable future.

Damn i forgot Wittgren had gotten hurt at the end of last year. I have a weird liking to him and always have coming up through the system. Great middle relief/set up arm for any team. Hope he can come back healthy.

Doesnt surprise me with tazawa, even if they save a million of his 7 million thats something and we have plenty of bullpen arms to take his place. Maybe we can take a flier on a lower level guy we like and find our next Luis Castillo but hopefully dont trade him.

Eric Campbell is perfectly fine to play for 6 weeks, especially assuming Prado or Riddle will likely be back sometime during the period so it's really only going to be a few weeks of Campbell.

They can also play Cooper-Maybin-SVS in the OF and put Dietrich at 3B for a little bit, and fuck it let Braxton Lee be the 4th OF until Prado or Riddle is healthy and boots him off the team and Dietrich back to the OF. It's not like Lee will be permanently up to blow his service time, nor is the same level of asset as Brinson/Anderson.

It's really easy.

Especially with the FO making it well known that 2018 and 19 they could care less about. Just seems they are seriously considering Anderson and Brinson on ML Opening Day

They would love him to play 2B or 3B however Mattingly/FO thinks he has gotten so muscular/big he is better suited for OF/1b which is why he keeps getting mentioned there

Rangers sent down W. Calhoun, a good comparable to Brinson. It's literally every other team in baseball accounting for service time issues. Calhoun has 20 days of service time, basically the same as Brinson. He is a May callup for good.
