The Official '62 Mets Suck Our Dicks Thread

You know what would be really worth whipping it out and telling someone to suck it, if this team had a left side of the infield of Reyes and Ramirez. Or Ramirez and Cabrera. And all the fun talent, like Stanton, Yelich, and Fernandez would still be here because they had nothing to do with these trades that were so cool and the reason the Marlins are surpassing the '62 Mets! Raise that banner, boys!

Yeah, it's clearly evident to me now that are 3 or 4 guys here who work part time for the Marlins PR (lol) department.
Coming up with these ridiculous defenses to justify no post season appearances in 10 years. 10 fucking years, man.
There is so much variance in the playoffs. We're going to hang our hats on the fact that the team won the WS the two times they made the playoffs in 20 years.
I will concede that the Marlins clearly got the best of the Toronto trade. If I ever said it was an awful trade, I was dead wrong but those of you who are defending 10 years of suck make me want to vomit.

Not really defending 10 years of suck
but missing the playoffs 10 years running isn't as it sounds... we've had playoff caliber teams before, but because of our Division or whatever, we were left out
that being said, no one here is happy with the fact the team sucks but I will say that this season is a whole helluva lot more fun than last years was (also the fact theyve been solid since May 31st is nice too)

And it's not really 10 years of suck unless there's really nothing in between making and not making the playoffs

It's not. They're an old, storied franchise with a hugh, dedicated fan base and have a ball park with a lot of personality that's probably quite fun to go to games at.
Most of the Marlins games I've been to over the years have been in a lifeless football stadium where the overwhelming majority of the seats were empty. Of course, we got a stadium after the owner kept a tiny payroll and threatened to move out of town on several occasions until the city built him a stadium. Also, even though I live in Florida, it's rare to find someone who gives a shit about the Marlins. Then there's the fact that I can only root for young star players knowing with almost certainty that they'll be out of town before they ever reach their prime. The Marlins are not an easy franchise to be a fan of.Last edited by Chewford; 08-02-2013, 04:29 PM.Need help? Questions? Concerns? Want to chat? PM Hugg!

Cubs, Indians, Diamondbacks, Marlins, Pirates, Expos.
Cubs and Indians are no brainers. History and trying to win > lucking into it or just not caring about winning. After all, the new wave of baseball thinking doesn't care about the results, it's the process. Right, isn't that why we have BABIP and ISO and all those fun things instead of just looking at batting average?
Or does caring about the process only matter when it's convenient, because, you know, championship! (Singular)
