Oh, and one nugget to throw in about how astronomically dumb the Mets' announcers are:
In the game yesterday, they were talking about Coghlan, and Gary Cohen (the play-by-play guy) said that his OBP coming into the game was .365. He then said that .365 really isn't that great and that leadoff hitters should have OBPs around .385-.390. Really, Gary?
1.) Generally, only elite players have OBPs that are that high (generally).
2.) Your leadoff hitter and golden boy, Jose Reyes, the man who Keith Hernandez last year said was "without question" better than Hanley Ramirez, has a career high OBP of .358 and has a career average OBP of .337.
