Why did we go out and get Diaz if not for situations like this?

Diaz played 1st base last night in AAA for the first time. That can't be a coincidence seeing as how Mahoney was about to be DLed. My guess is that he'll be up soon.

They should have traded him this past offseason and ripped the band aid off...instead they'll look to trade him this offseason when he's got a .250 average and 15 homers and teams are saying "he's been injured every year and only played in 60 games"

Then they'll start the season with him again, he'll get injured again, he'll come back and he'll be gone at the deadline

I don't believe for a second that his trade value has gone down, unless this is a power hampering injury

And there's nothing wrong with looking to move him next off-season if teams are interested in giving up alot. Stanton will still be one of the most attractive cheap options in the league, injured or not
