Which makes said 2 assholes not being sent down even more puzzling.

He's hitting a (very soft) .300 the last 15 games or something. He doesn't really deserve to be sent down. Just no one likes him.
              --------------------
He's leading the team in batting average too.

"Marlins send down their leading hitter." LORIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has been helped by the random 2-4 game. The problem is he surrounds those rare 2-4 games with awful performances and this early in the season it is still able to be skewed(i.e. the 14 game stretch where he OPS .426), and despite the longish slumps he has still started every game.

He's 25 year's old and this season sucks. Why would they send him down?

Solano's started 27 games and gotten hits in 19 of them. He has 6 multi-hit games and 1 3 hit game. His only real problem is there's zero pop in his bat.

He had a "prolonged slump" as Todd put it and is still the only qualified hitter on the team not hitting under .260.

And he doesnt draw walks, and its pretty likely that he wont sustain those hit ratios. He is ok as a backup on a bad team, but he shouldnt be a starter.

                          Basically this.

I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression that I think Solano is good. He's not as bad as some people act like he is though (within the context of this team specifically).

Even granting you this premise, why should they send him down in favor of a 34-year-old who has had like 3 good games?
