Good business is making money and growing your business for more money in the future. While the team did this with a new stadium, they will not be making money and growing their base at its full potential. It's 2013 and the Marlins now have fewer fans than they did in 1993. Sure you're making money, but it's horrible business model.

David Samson should be running a company that takes over struggling companies, cuts expenses and sells off the parts at a profit. Not a business that needs to consider things in the short, medium and long term.

The MLB as a whole is booming and bringing in tons of money. Loria is leeching off this and spending as little as humanly possible to make the largest amount of profit on money that he is guaranteed no matter what he does. That doesn't make him some great business man. His RAR (revenue above replacement owner, for example if a panda owned the team instead) is quite low.

David Sampson shouldn't be running any company. He should be selling used cars at Coral Springs Auto Mall or something.

The Marlins are a product of an owner who owns a team to make money.

Professional sports teams are designed to be owned by incredibly wealthy people who want a new toy. People who already have the yachts, the Maybach 57's and the private jets and want to take it to the next level.

Mark Cuban doesn't give a fuck about making money off of the Mavs. He's already extremely wealthy and loves basketball.
