Dietrich strikes out a lot, but Baseball America rated him top power hitter in Rays system in 2011. Have to assume if he is athletic enough to play SS he can transition to 2B and be alright there (gotta be better than Uggla, no?). Seems to have some nice RHP splits from the limited data on MILB.com, so that could be interesting if those hold up. At 2B, all he needs to do is hit a few bombs and not embarrass himself and that's a solid starter.

I was hoping they would get a "Rob Brantly at 2B" (or 3B, or SP) for Escobar, and it seems they exactly did that. This makes a lot of sense for the team.

And seriously, why is anyone crying about trading YUNEL ESCOBAR because he has a good contract? The team is going to SUCK for 2 seasons of it minimum, and who knows what he is in 2 years. Cash him in and get guys on the same progression path as everyone else. Escobar does nothing for the team. If teams value him, he is an easy sell.
