Grant Green wasn't born in Cleveland though.

Discussions were around Brad Peacock or Grant Green but no indication of whether that's what the Marlins were asking or if that's what Oakland was offering.

I like Grant Green more because at worse he could be a utility player, but I'm OK with the return. I don't know if he'll pan out, but it could have been worse.

grant green is a more polished hitter from AAA who could impact this year not some high strikeout guy

Don't necessarily need an impact guy for this year. Also, for what it's worth, they have the same OBP throughout their minor league career.

                      That's what most trades are

he's more than "some guy" from AA ball

also, is this your first time seeing a trade occur? this is quite normal

From Deitrich's year-old BA report, in which he was #13 in the Rays system with a 50 (second-division regular) grade

-generates above-average power from the left side with quick hands/natural strengh
-tries to muscle balls out of park ocassionally, which reduces his effectiveness
-doesn't have range or quick-twich athleticism for SS
-soft hands and good arm strength, candidate for 3B or possibly 2B
                            -Below-average runner, but not liability
-chance to develop into productive regular

ive seen alot of trades but it always seems we get the worst value out of a player
