For the record, I have never once mentioned FAU baseball on here. Although the Owls do have a good program, I happen to find college baseball unwatchable...but that's just me.

The FO is pretty much split which is why I keep saying it is gonna come down to if he signs an extension or not. Some see Stanton as a cornerstone power guy that they want to keep and others see him as a chip to get 4 or 5 ML players in 2014.
The correct answer is "Stanton is a cornerstone power guy."

It's really easy. Extension or Herschel Walker him. This offseason.

                        • Lou, Coghlan isn't arbitration eligible yet.

                            • That's what I thought, but none of the lists have I have seen have him as arbitration eligible. I think there is a rule that if you spend X amount of days in the minors the year previous (2011) then you don't get Super Two status.

                              • Ok that makes sense. I forgot about that, you have to have like 80 days the previous year on active roster in addition to the top 17% service time. I guess he didn't accrue those days. Might as well keep him through spring training with no financial hit.

86 days is the actual number
