this teams lineup is so far away from being competent and there are so many open spots that there are any number of veterans they can and probably should sign to give a big role to for a few months in the hopes of them catching fire and being able to flip them at the deadline for more young guys. I'd probably sign 1 SP (they wont yet again), 2 middle reliever/set up/closing options, and 2 lineup pieces (pretty much any position other than 2b). At worst it's a sunk cost and the guys stink and you cut bait like you did with tim anderson. Best option is the young bats perform better than expected and Sandy's return and some better pitching help significantly raises the floor of this team. Most likely case is you buy some more minor league time for the bats int he upper minors and like i said, you flip them for something at the deadline.

Bruce wont do it though, because he is relatively poor and completely incompetent as an owner.

    • dodgers DFA'd diego cartaya. there is 0 reason why Jhonny Pereda should be kept on the 40 man in favor of claiming Cartaya to give him a chance and see if he can fulfill his talent.

      • Marlins are once again the only team not to spend any guaranteed money this offseason. Wagaman turned out not to be a guaranteed major league deal

        • Dolphins 25 years without a playoff win. Strong.

Their season was over when Tua went down the first time. Why on earth it’s a good idea not to get a better backup for an injury-prone QB is beyond me.

their season was over when their dumbass GM thought he was smarter than everyone else and did nothing to improve the same interior line that has been an issue for every single game for years now. Tua being injury prone is definitely an issue, but even when healthy, there is a reason they lose to every good team and can never get tough yards when they need it on 3rd and 4th and short. They have some of the worst guard play imaginable. Not tough, can never get that tough yard, and are consistently getting their ass kicked against good physical teams. For 4+ years now they have built wins against shitty teams during 1 PM home games (i have season tickets, ive seen them kick a lot of shitty teams asses). their strength of victory from this year to 2021 has been .294 this year, .358 last year, .457 in 2022, and .379 in 2021. In 2021 they made that comeback after going 1-7 or whatever it was and then beat up on like 6 straight terrible teams before getting their ass kicked in Tennessee. 2022 in mcdaniels first year they got off to a hot start and admittedly won some big games against the ravens and bills early, and then shit the bed again down the stretch. and then the last 2 years they have almost exclusively feasted on terrible teams at home in 1 PM starts. Their streak of winning seasons was about as big of a mirage as the marlins 2 playoff appearances this decade.

Just a loser franchise like the marlins, and to bring back grier is just ridiculous.

Jags gm and dolphins gm have to have the same agent or blackmail on their respective owners
