Yes, I had the issue on my laptop, but not on my work computer or phone.

i think i fixed it now. Has to do with the website showing up as not secure. have to go into your settings and manually allow "Insecure Content" for whatever reason. not sure if something changed on the sites end to have to do that but i think ive had that issue in the past as well.

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one. Just on my PC, it's actually fine right now, I have periods where it's fine and periods where it's fucked.

He can still be offered the $20.325 M QO, though. Not sure if he will or not - given his history of on-off alternate years, I'd be hesistant to do that.

I would rather sign Duvall than risk a QO to Soler. Duvall is a similar hitter, very solid OF defender, and will cost less than half as much.

Don't need to spend on Bell either. I'm happy to pencil in Troy Johnston right now.

yup, and then when johnston goes 0-4 the first 2 spring training games you will find the next guy to fall in love with or predict 52 wins again.

That will be so great if Bell opts out. That $16.5m can go a lot further and gets Arraez to 1B. Hopefully you are right but I don’t see it. (Which is also fine if he stays as he’s fine.)

That’s assuming Duvall would come here but sure. The Marlins would need to make a few moves so these Duvall or Turner guys would sign a deal here.

Get Adames/Ortiz, Jansen, and Montgomery and I think Duvall type FA then makes sense over a Soler QO, etc.

                      • A two-year contract with Gary Sanchez could add sixty or seventy homers to the club. We were already getting the miniscule BA from our catchers.

bell opting out is not "so great." you continue to think anyone wants to sign here. they dont, and its why we sign the cueto's and garcia's of the league who are washed up or are not very good every offseason. Bell is a great veteran bat to have in the lineup. This particular team is not signing anyone better for 16.5 million.

He didn’t opt out. A “duh” move.

You can easily apportion $16.5m over 2+ guys to make up the production. I’d prefer him leaving and shift Arraez to 1B and open up 2B for Edwards, but this is fine as he’s solid. Bruce needs to spend $120m unless they find three Cody Ross guys this offseason for $1. So ultimately nothing matters unless ownership wants to field a winner.

This particular team can’t find 2 guys to make that impact for 16.5 million. Again, face reality, good players don’t want to sign here. It’s why we are constantly in the 4th and 5th tier of free agency. Him opting in is big. Hopefully the can bring soler back

Andrus and M. Moore had 1.7 WAR last year (which would be a best case scenario for Bell) and the Marlins would still have $6+m to spend versus what Bell is going to make - actually $7.5 once Okert is traded as he’d then be expendable since you signed another lefty and you’d get a FV40 for him.

Pretty much any competent GM could replicate that production bargain shopping even at “Marlins” players, so I respectfully disagree. But it’s fine he opted in because Segura was bad and he did get them to the playoffs. As said, this isn’t really an issue. Is Bruce going to spend. That’s the whole offseason.
