What is so difficult to understand that if Reyes was never in the deal,d'Araund would have been in the deal and we would have prolly flipped him for a 3B/OF? We would NOT have kept him and instead since Toronto took a 96 million dollar contract off Jeff Loria's hands that we prolly helped them out some too.

This was not a total baseball decision,yes could have we still gotten d'Araund and traded him for Mike Olt or someone who is a little better than Marisnick. But instead we said give us Marisnick(your #2 prospect),pay the whole contract and u can keep d'Araund.

The problem is your adding value on one side and subtracting it from the other. I know the Reyes contract being gone is seen as a plus from Loria's perspective but you don't trade a guy with a fair market contract and get back less in return.

You don't weaken a deal in order to get them to take Reyes, that makes so little sense that I don't buy it even from this crew.

That would have to mean reyes had negative trade value and there's no way that's true. They could have traded him somewhere else.
