2 execs spoke to already said this: Ricky Nolasco will be next to go from #Marlins
The trend based on that has been to have more private funding in stadiums than public money.
On top of that, this stadium was approved of and built during the worst economy in this country in the last 80 years. Those were all planned and started during relatively good times.

I bet Loria is pretty close to making players rent out their lockers and pay for their own uniforms.Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon MuffLogan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."

Now this year will be threadbare, as they won't get that revenue sharing for 2012. So they must have shred as much salary because their income was severely cut for 2013 (no 2012 rev sharing).
But at what expense ? Their reputations and credibility are gone for good. I guess Loria thinks that if he throws money at a free agent he will get who he wants. Sorry but that will not happen again. Baseball players are smarter than that.

I dunno, Donald Sterling was pretty hated
Also, the more I think about it, the more I think this is all about putting the team up for sale
still don't know why the Marlins didn't get anyone really cool back from Toronto, but that's a different kind of anger

I'm thinking (and hoping) this too.
I think the fact that they traded essentially the whole team to Toronto but failed to get Toronto's top prospect speaks volumes about Loria not caring about the organizations future competitiveness.
This has to be the set up for a sale.

The official site says the Marlins are working on a deal to "revamp their roster".
