Toronto ate all the money. That's why. This isn't about players (although Alvarez is a nice piece to match with Turner and Fernandez, and maybe that CF turns into a starter). This was about dumping payroll, plain and simple.

Same thing with Oakland disgruntled about Hanley - we offered them a better player, but they wanted to dump more money so they went with the Dodgers.

It is 100% slash and burn, clear it all out.

I'm not excited even if this is a new GM.

The next day I get excited as a Marlins "fan" is when Loria, or his estate, sell the team.
