Don't know how Marlins find enough spots in AAA, AA and A+ outfields. AAA: B Miller, Harrison, Sanchez, Brinson, Sierra AA and A+: Burdick, Conine, Scott, Bleday, Encarnacion, Misner, Mesas, Orr, Jones

tyler kolek is now a free agent, thus ending one of the most truly awful careers for a #2 pick in baseball history. at no point was he even remotely good in the minors.

          Hi A-Bradshaw/Connor Scott/Pompey/Misner
          Low A-Mesa Jr/Orr/Dalvy/Hampton/Johnston

4 guys at each level per night. LF/CF/RF/DH

Wouldnt be surprised IF u see 1 or 2 moving in trades. Marlins have alot of feelers out right now(Storey/Bryant/Sal Perez/Lindor)

Its from Nightengale(who sucks but its true)

Cleveland, strapped for money, intend to trade All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor by opening day, several rival teams have been informed. Lindor earned $17.5 million last season and is projected to earn about $21 million in salary arbitration in his final year before free agency

We have had talks and exchanged names but they havent matched up. Cleveland asked for better arms than we wanted to deal. Burdick was discussed as were few low level arms

It's difficult, maybe impossible, to assemble a pecking order for the slew of outfielders in the system. If I had to pick a couple that are destined to be regulars in the Miami OF over the next five or six years, I'd go with Burdick, Conine and possibly Bleday. Still, there's no CF there. Maybe Scott will develop.

Jurickson Profar intrigues me as a potential addition.

I'm still a huge Chisholm believer as well.

Profar is probably too expensive for what Miami wants. They arent looking for a 5 million dollar guy they want a vet who is OK in UT role

Ya even the minors is gonna be weird. No real CF beside Scott and guys could skip over others based on age. Marlins probably would rather have a 24 yr old Conine in AA over a 22 yr old Thomas Jones. We could even see guys Lorenzo Hampton/Johnston moved up to see if they can stick or not because they are 23/24 already. If they cant then just released instead of moved down a level. This is the same for arms!!

For Aguilar money (close to $5 mill this season), I'd much rather play Profar. Profar is at his 27 prime, an outstanding athlete, and has ability to play first base as a regular (seems to have HR potential equal to lumbering Aguilar or Cooper. Profar also has the ability to move anywhere else in the IF in the event of injury to Anderson/Rojas/Chishom. Also like his switch hitting. Adding him to the lineup would be akin to adding a Starling Marte to the IF.

                      They have for 2021

                      2B-Isan/Berti/Devers
                      SS-Rojas/Jazz

Dont get me wrong IF Profar costs the same as a Cesar Hernandez they likely go affter Profar. The thing is u have Profar/Kike/Cesar Hernandez/Sogard/La Stella/likely few Milb with invites I dont think they spend 5-7 million on a Profar who wants to play ALOT if they can get one of the other guys who is fine with a "role" for 2-3 million

What to watch is does Miami sign a Joc Pederson OR Eddie Rosario? They want that power LHB and have those 2 at top of list-if they get 1 of those guys then a vet for MIF is likely.

They want that power LHB and 2 or 3 RP. MIF and maybe a vet SP are luxury

                      • Out of the box idea - trade back for Giancarlo Stanton (I am ignoring no trade issues which I think can be resolved). He is owed 7/$215 (ignoring deferred amounts Marlins owe in 26-27-28. Thanks Loria).

Yankees have Frazier-Hicks-Judge longterm, and a DH is a DH. Universal DH is coming to NL in a year or two so the Marlins can "hide" Stanton there in a few seasons or sooner.

I'd want the Yankees to kick in $30-35 million and Higashioka. Marlins to trade them back Cooper (for their own current DH purposes), Jesus Sanchez to help them longterm as he becomes expendable, and throw in another arm or two outside of Marlins top 15 prospects or even Alfaro or Yimi. They also have some good OF prospects (Floral, etc.) so the Yankees are fine there depth wise.

This then opens up money for what the Yankees should do - sign Realmuto. This also indirectly avoids Realmuto in Philly or NYM so that helps and the Marlins don't lose a draft pick.

This makes Stanton a $25/26 million a year player, and the Marlins OF/DH situation will have two club controlled players (Bleday, Harrison, Scott, Misner, Burdick, Jerar, Conine, Mesa, etc.) to flank for years so that number isn't crushing.

                        Longterm vision:

C - _______ / Higashioka (I think this blank line is trading Pablo or E. Cabrera for Ruiz(LAD) or another stud catcher prospect)
                        1B - Lewin
                        2B - Isan / Devers
                        SS - Jazz
                        3B - Anderson
                        LF - Bleday
                        CF - Harrison / Scott / Misner
RF (and DH) - Stanton, Jerar / Burdick / Conine

SP - Sixto, Sandy, Cabrera/Pablo, Garrett, Meyer
BP - Hernandez (still see him here longterm), Rogers (him too), Vesia, and needs a lot of help but that can be dealt with

Then draft mostly arms again in 21, sign Rizzo next offseason to bring him home, and pray someone can play CF.

                        • You want to take on approx 180M Stanton bucks and give up Cooper and J Sanchez and perhaps Y Garcia ... and get a 30-year-old catcher with a career avg of .186 in return? I'm missing something, make that a lot, here.

I sense that money will be a huge issue this winter, esp given the combination of a bad tv deal looming and the ongoing ramnifications of the pandemic. I'm already shocked that Starling Marte was re-upped for $12M given the less than Jon Berti numbers he put up as a Marlin. Personally, I would have let Berti and Mags cover CF next season and pocketed the Marte money. Dickerson's big money looks to be poorly invested for 2021 as well. I still don't think the Marlins will keep Aguilar.

The Marlins certainly need some offense from the catcher position, but I have no idea where it will come from at this point.

                          • I think I'd need the Yankees to eat a lot more than $35 million to think about taking Stanton back considering the injury issues he's had his whole career.

Rather just give Realmuto that money.

Yes because the Marlins aren't going to be successful in luring key free agents until they build a team. If not Stanton, they'll have to trade for someone else to be the first step in graduating to a real contender. There is definitely an opportunity to get the Yankees to pay for a chunk of his salary in a down-money year.

The catcher should be Ruiz and they should use Pablo/Cabrera to headline the package.

Saying you'd take Berti and Sierra over Starlin Marte also says it all. Seems like business as usual.

                              • A Stanton-like deal, though vastly less severe, would be to take on Will Meyer's contract from San Diego along with Mellow Luis Campusano. Campusano, one of the top young catching prospects, might have lost some allure to SD ownership after his recent felony arrest for marijuana possession (79 grams). Miami should have no problem with that.
