For what it's worth, on The Papi Show with Dan LeBatard, Lebs made it seem like Beinfest was close to a lock to be canned at the end of the season.

I'd say LeBatard is probably the last person to look to for Marlins' info.
      --------------------
He also thought the Marlins acquired Anibal Sanchez for Juan Pierre.

Beinfest, Hill, and Fleming all are through 2015. I kind of feel they all need to go if the decision is to turnover the front office.
        --------------------
That's 9 years of contracts to buy out to front office personnel

For stuff like that, I agree. I got the impression that he was saying this based on some sort of inside information, though.

I've gotten the impression that he quite literally knows nothing about the Marlins, based on the few times he has been forced to discuss them this season. It really seems like he stopped following baseball four years ago.

Maybe he has some inside info, but I'd wait until, like, anyone else says that before thinking about it.

He's definitely been saying he's gone with conviction all week, fwiw.

I'm just saying, I'd definitely wait until someone else says anything about it before thinking there is credibility to it.

The cool thing about being on the radio, is there's not really a high standard for credibility. Nobody's gonna call him out on it in six months if he's wrong like they might if it was in print, because it is such a fluid format.

I find it difficult to believe they fire Beinfest/Hill. Why let them make significant moves this month if you're just going to fire them at the end of the season?

If true, Nathan Eovaldi and Scott McGough for Hanley is one hell of a swan song.

For the record, I didn't even know he mentioned this on the radio. I saw it on TV.

Are you confusing LeBatard with Stugotz?

I realize LeBetard is not Boog but.......

Nope. The guy's knowledge of the Marlins is kind of embarrassing.

He has a solid conceptual understanding of baseball from a sabrmetric perspective, but his concrete knowledge of the Marlins right now and the majors in general is incredibly lacking. I would assume he can't name most of the players in the bullpen or on the bench right now.

At this point he really does not strike me as someone who I would imagine is plugged in with the team.

I'd even question this statement. I always feel like he knows how to refute an argument, but can't really articulate the alternative. Basically, he knows that the "hustle and grit" crowd are dumb, but he doesn't really know why the SABR crowd is smart. He just kind of assumes that if he hears something from that group then he should trust it.

I liked when he mentioned Swstr% and made Heath Bell angry.
