I would gladly send them Eovaldi/Conley, Hand, and Caminero/any other system power arm for him.
I like Span more than BJ/Upton/Bourn/Victorino over next 3-5 years. Let alone, he will be cheaper. It's worth dishing out some pitching.

I would love to get Perkins too. They have mentioned him in trades before as a possible guy to move. He makes 3/$10 which is a little pricy for a complete non-contender.
I think I'd be ok moving Eovaldi, Conley, Hand, Caminero, and say throw them Coghlan and they can test drive him these last two months and see if they get lucky, for Span and Perkins. I know that looks crazy, but they are going to want a lot for Span. He's that good. Might as well go for broke and get one of the better lefty relievers in baseball thrown in.
Minn clears $30 million in payroll and gets a boatload of controlled pitching that means little to Marlins, as the Marlins have internal options (theoretically, Marlins 2015 staff could be Buerhle, Turner, Fernandez, Heaney, C. James/whoever) and money to burn on rotation if there are arm blow outs.
I would love that move.

Plenty of cash to sign a # 3ish SP for 2-3 seasons (would be needed, fits into payroll easily), and have enough left to address stopgap/platoon help for 2B/3B.
And if they do win the Mike Olt battle with Texas this deadline, I think they would keep him in NOLA until the summer (delay arbitration, probably need another 300-500 minor league AB from today forward regardless) which doesn't change anything above, except 3B looks great moving forward and they could sign another free agent starter with "Johnsons" money

There's plenty of speculation around Josh Johnson, a pitcher the Rangers scouted once again Sunday and has been on their radar for some time.
But reports out of Miami continue to show the asking price is particularly high. Johnson probably didn't increase his stock with his five-inning performance against the San Diego Padres. On the up side, he allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits with four strikeouts. On the down side, he walked six and didn't pitch as deep into the game as he wanted.
But here's how Stark termed the situation when it comes to Johnson, the Marlins and the Rangers. He says the conversation has to start with Mike Olt:
We checked back with one of the baseball men who pegged the odds of Johnson going nowhere as "95 percent" a few days ago. He told us Sunday he'd now raise those odds to "98 percent," given the asking price and concerns of all the teams in this mix.
Texas, in particular, seems especially cautious about Johnson and the hefty package it would take to get him, no matter how much the Rangers might need an ace. The Marlins have told Texas there's nothing for those two teams to talk about unless third-base prospect Mike Olt's name is on the table. And so far, the Rangers haven't been willing to lay Olt's name on any team's table, for any sort of deal. So the chances of those two clubs matching up seems like a major long shot. But the Rangers still sent a scout to see Johnson pitch on Sunday. So those chances, clearly, aren't zero.
Would you include Olt in a deal for Johnson or is that too high a price to pay for a guy who has had an inconsistent season, has seen his velocity drop a bit and had the shoulder issue last season?

Been that way for a month now, they called us on JJ and our response was Mike Olt which they said no
As for Minnesota,ANY deal we do with them they want Brad Hand. Just like we say Mike Olt,Minnesota wants 1 guy(Well they will want more in a Span deal)but Brad Hand+

I know this is a what if but there are 2 3B in the 2013 draft-Kris Bryant and Colin Moran. If we get a Top 8 pick there is a good chance 1 of them will be there and probably could move the system very fast.
Would still be nice to get Olt and be able to take the BPA but if not we got 2 options in the 2013 draft

We will NOT move off Olt. If Texas wants JJ,he has to be in the package. They could offer 7 guys for JJ and Lee,if 1 of the 7 isn't Profar or Olt we will prolly say NO. Might say yes if it is Perez,Alfaro,Garcia,Martin all tho lol
