But you don't always get the first pick in the fantasy sea creature draft every 5th inning

      • The octopus has to be the last pick every time.

To get back on topic, I'm convinced its just a matter of time until the Marlins trade JJ for Olt. They had to have been feeling that was going to happen after moving Hanley and having no 3B replacement in sight now.

Right but I could have sworn his name was Joe on Opening Night.

In addition to #Rangers, executives expect #Angels, #BlueJays and #Orioles to make push for Josh Johnson. #Marlins @MLBONFOX

No matter who ask today all use terms like "would be shocked" if #Marlins do not trade Josh Johnson. #Rangers viewed as favorites.

                    • Why a reliever? Our bullpen is basically set next year unless we non-tender Mujica and get rid of Webb.

And at this point I would only do Olt, Martin and a third piece for JJ and balk at everything else.

                      • Our set bullpen has been rather atrocious this year. As the 3rd or 4th best piece in a deal, why not a reliever? Cost-controllable arms are always nice to have.

                        • Any chance we get get someone to take Mustinka in a trade with JJ ?

I'm not sure how desperate Texas is, and what kind of bidding war, but throw ins?

I think the prize is Olt and Perez/Ramirez. 3B and another big young SP for next year. Would kind of be awesome even if it stings to lose JJ.

This is all IF IF IF IF, they go into free agency 2013 and get a big CF for 4-5 years, a #3/4 SP on a 2 year deal, decent veteran LF and 2B/3B for general depth/help youth reasons, and let's say a better backup catcher.

                                Buck
                                Morrison
                                Bonifacio
                                Reyes
                                Olt
                                Veteran Platoon LF
                                BJ/Bourn/Melky
                                Stanton
                                Bench - Ruggiano, Veteran C, Veteran 2B/3B, Dobbs, Solano/25th

Buerhle, Nolasco, Veteran # 3/4 SP, Turner, Perez/Ramirez

Bell, Cishek, Eovaldi (probably best in pen let's be realistic), Dunn, Mujica, Webb, and LeBlanc.

That team is really cool. Minor leagues stacked for potential help.

                                AAA - Hand, Brantly
AA - Fernandez, Conley, Yelich, Realmuto, C. James, Ozuna

And moving into 2014, entire team besides the bench is internal with adding Yelich to veteran LF, Fernandez to Nolasco, and Brantly/Realmuto to the catchers. Everyone else is back besides the bench.

                                That's a really nice team.
