The Marlins also have starter Josh Johnson on the trade block, and the Texas Rangers are one of the teams actively pursuing him, a Marlins executive told USA TODAY Sports, with the Rangers informing the Marlins they would be willing to part with third-base prospect Mike Olt.

I'm hearing it's 50/50 #Marlins will move JJ. Has to be a great offer.

That was reasonable before Hamels signing. Marlins can try to get more from them than Olt.

Marlins' stance 24 hours ago was that they would trade Josh Johnson OR Hanley, but that may be evolving, given interest in Johnson.
lots of signs pointing to us getting a huge deal here

which is the only justifiable reason to trade him

Maybe we do get Perez and Olt. If that's the case, I think you're free to trade Ricky.

                Replace:

                Anibal with Turner

                Eovaldi with Nolasco

                Perez with JJ

                Hanley with Olt

and you get rid of a lot of $$ for the off season.

Wonder if LAA takes Nolasco and Bell for Bourjos and prospect

I hate to say it, but this next trade, if it's JJ is going to be the trade that sends all the casual talk radio calling fans ballistic. Even the dumbasses knew Hanley was bad news. The JJ trade will blow the roof off the building.

@WiessD: Sources: Marlins getting a ton of calls for P Josh Johnson, good chance he gets traded if top prospects are offered. Braves pushing hard.

Who do the Braves have that we would want ?

I'm inclined to agree. Fuck the Braves.

I'm fine with trading JJ if it nets an exceptional haul.

Sources: Rangers have not agreed to deal Olt for Johnson. At least not yet. Theory: Leak from Marlins to jack up market for Johnson?

besides the fact that you'd hate to move a potential ace to a division rival, there isn't really anything they have that would interest me. I'd assume with Dempster shelved (maybe) they're offering Randall Delgado and some lower prospects.

That guy seems to think the Hanley price will have something to do with JJ's price. That the Marlins are eager to dump JJ and the Rangers don't have to give up much for them. Don't think that's the case.
