MIAMI (CBSMiami) The whole idea of a domed baseball stadium was to keep the heat and the rain outside, and the fans cool and dry inside. If that’s the case, it seems the Marlins have something to work on.
Mother Nature and Marlins Park were locked in battle Monday night, and it looks like Mother Nature won. A television station videographer at the park to watch a game found rainfall, not outside where a storm was pounding, but inside, where the fans were supposed to be dry.
It was hard to see in the lights, where it just looked hazy, but clear to spot in the seats where the raindrops were falling on everybody’s head.
The videographer did what you’d expect, and grabbed his trusty smart phone to document the the “oops!” moment.
The National Weather service issued am Urban Flood advisory because of the heavy rain, and flooding was reported in a number of areas Monday evening, while the Dome was raining.
The thunderstorms were heavy enough to delay fights traveling through Miami International airport.
