I know it's an extremely far fetch, but why not try and solve our CF problem once and for all and try to acquire CarGo?

What could be requested for a player of his caliber?

One of Yelich/Fernandez + Ozuna, etc.
we don't have enough in our system for CarGo

We barely have enough in our system for Carlos Lee.

We're in no position to try and trade for marquee players on other teams.

I wonder if they wanted a package involving Hand for both Span and The Hammer or just for one of them.
We just wanted 1 of them however from what I heard, Hand was mentioned in both deals Minnesota asked for.

More than likely if we are still in contention around the Trade Deadline we would trade Hand and stuff for 1 of them.

Another OF name we asked about was Reed Johnson from the Cubs but the Ruggiano deal pretty much killed that too

I like Daniel Nava who won't be getting any playing time once the Red Sox get healthy. We should make a trade and get him.

The guy just walks way too many people to be a consistent Major League starter. Maybe it improves, maybe it doesn't, but if we're counting on Brad Hand to fill a rotation spot next year, we're in trouble.
That, along with the fact that he gives up a lot of flyballs. Bad combination.

I like the idea of trading Hand for something that can help us now. He will most likely be a fringe MLB player anyways.

Minnesota may be interested in Hand, Dominguez and one of AJ Ramos, Evan Reed, or Aquimendes Caminero. If that is what it would take to get Span, I would do it in a heartbeat. I am willing to deal anyone not named Yelich or Fernandez at this point. I remember reading last week that the Twins wanted pitching, any kind of pitching. Chad James, Rob Rasmussen or maybe even Sanabia as a filler. Minnesota, however, has a slew of outfielder prospects so Marcell Ozuna may not be on their radar, but I would assume everyone else I listed would be.

As for Oviedo. I think if the Marlins get him three games or so a bullpen-needy team (Angels, Yankees) would bite and trade a C prospect for him. I'd do it.

I feel like trading Oviedo for a C level prospect is a waste. We have enough of them.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more Jake Smolinski.

He's doing somewhat decent for Jacksonville. Don't know if he'll be useful at all though. Probably not.

Do note, he has technically been doing better this year than last year.
