Marlins Lose 3-2 As Heath Bell Blows His Third Save of the Season
Reyes/Boni/Hanley being 4 for 50 something or whatever it is is during the road trip probably the most frustrating stat I've seen in some time. Hanley goes 0-20 on the road trip with like 12 strike outs.
I mean, Jorge Julio cost us Petit (who was still kinda-sorta a good prospect) and he got 10 games before getting sent out.
I'd image Bell at least gets a month before being taken out of the closer's role. Is he pitching well right now, no. But we knew we were getting a guy with a so-so fastball and not a whole lot of movement.
Also, look, Bell "lost" the game in the sense that it was ultimately him that had the final say in the matter, but you can't scrape together two runs and expect to get a W. Lots of blame for this one.
Bell, Reyes, Bucknor, Hanley, Stanton. That's a lot to fix, except CB, we know he's bad.
lol you neg me because I call you out for that snide comment towards Mainge, who I'm pretty sure was against Bell getting that deal as well.
Yeah, Mainge never wanted to spend $27M on a closer. Perhaps he just doesn't feel it is necessary to call for a guy's job anytime he does anything that doesn't work out.
Yeah, once more, for the record, fuck CB Bucknor. He's consistently the worst umpire in baseball yet every year he's back again. I'm sure it has nothing to do with race.

Yeah, Bell totally always sucked like this.
Mentioning Yusmeiro Petit is just grasping at straws now.
